2024–2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Process—All Students
The Department of Education began its soft launch of the new 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). During the soft launch, the form will be available intermittently while site maintenance is performed and technical updates are made. The Rutgers priority filing deadline for all students is February 15, 2024. Please visit the FAFSA Simplification page to learn more.

Enroll in Direct Deposit for Faster Refunds—All Students
Direct deposit is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds issued by Rutgers. View instructions for setting up direct deposit here. International students who are eligible for a refund can enroll in direct deposit using a U.S. bank account. Please note that direct deposit is currently not available for summer or winter refunds.

TA/GA Graduate Fellow Payroll Deduction—TAs, GAs, and Graduate Fellows
TAs, GAs, and Graduate Fellows may enroll in payroll deduction to make payments for charges not covered by tuition remission, such as housing, dining, or student fees. Please complete the online form no later than the sixth week of the semester to enroll in payroll deduction. The deadline to enroll in the 9-payment deduction plan is by 3 p.m. on January 25, 2024.

Staff/Faculty Taxable Remission—Graduate Students Who Are Staff/Faculty
Please be aware that the full value of staff/faculty graduate tuition remission is subject to federal and New Jersey state tax withholding. In addition, under federal regulations, any graduate tuition remission benefit over $5,250 per calendar year is also considered taxable. Please refer to the 2024 Tax Withholding Schedule for the 2024 withholding dates.

Waive or Enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) for Spring 2024 before February 9, 2024—All Students

Rutgers requires full-time and all F&J Rutgers visa sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each semester before the deadline. The health insurance premium is automatically added to the term bill each semester. The SHIP is optional for part-time students and the premium is not added to the term bill. The deadline to waive or enroll is February 9, 2024.

WAIVING? Students who have comparable health insurance may complete the waiver to get the premium removed from their term bills. Failure to waive before the deadline will result in enrollment in the SHIP being processed, and the student will be responsible for paying the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance.
ENROLLING? Students who do not have health insurance should complete the enrollment form. Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. Students should complete the enrollment form each semester to finalize the process.

New Brunswick Payment Center's Updated Hours of Operation—All Students
The New Brunswick Payment Center at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall on the Busch Campus will be operating as follows: Wednesday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, it is strongly encouraged that students use electronic payment methods instead of cash payments for paying term bills. Please review payment options and the Cash Handling Policy for more information.

myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. Register Now for a Byrne Seminar—Undergraduate Students
Students may add a Byrne Seminar to schedules now. Seats are available in more than 35 sections with topics such as robotics, music, global health, climate science, and more. Each seminar is limited to just 20 students, which gives participants a unique opportunity to get to know a professor and their research. Applications for the Rutgers–Eagleton Washington Internship Award—Undergraduate Students
Applications are being accepted for the Summer 2024 cohort of the Rutgers–Eagleton Washington Internship Award, a program providing up to $6,000 in awards to outstanding Rutgers undergraduate students for in-person summer internships in government/public service in Washington, D.C. The monetary award is meant to ease the financial burden of working in Washington D.C. and is intended to offset living expenses. Virtual Roundtable: Meet the Sciences and Politics Fellows—Graduate Students
Graduate students are invited to hear from a panel of Science Fellows and explore three available fellowship tracks for the Eagleton Science and Politics Program: Climate Action Track, Executive Track, and Legislative Track. Participants will meet current and past members as they share their experiences as science advisors in New Jersey state government. Current supervisors will also discuss future projects and share their career trajectories from Science Fellows to full-time positions in New Jersey State government. Rutgers Internship and Co-Op Course (RICC)—Undergraduate Students
The Rutgers Internship and Co-Op Course (RICC) is a 3 or 6 credit general elective course that students can take concurrently with an internship or co-op experience in order to earn academic credit. This experience-learning course allows students to explore and dive into industries and opportunities to gain work experience. 2024 Winter Career & Internship Mega Fair—All Students
The Winter Career & Internship Mega Fair takes place on February 1 and February 2, 2024, at Jersey Mike's Arena on the Livingston Campus. This in-person event provides the opportunity to network with over 300 employers and discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields. This event is only open to Rutgers University students and alumni from all academic disciplines. This event is also part of the Spring 2024 #Rutgersworks Free Tuition Challenge. Final Exam Schedule—Undergraduate Students
Students should review finalexams.rutgers.edu and class syllabuses to know when final exams are scheduled. Remember, exams are not always during class scheduled times. Students who have conflicts (e.g. exams at the same time/day or more than two exams beginning in a 24-hour period) should refer to exam policies and consult with their school’s academic advising office for questions.

Registration for Winter Session Is Ongoing—All Students
Registration for the Winter 2024 term is in progress. Earn credits towards a degree during winter break, and choose from 150 courses in a wide range of subjects. Please note that students must have an established GPA of 2.0 or higher to register. Rutgers first-year and transfer students who enrolled in the fall are not eligible to register. Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2024 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The January deadline is January 15, 2024. Any questions concerning a diploma application can be submitted to the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office via this webform. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

HIV/STI Testing—All Students
An HIV/STI testing clinic will be held on Monday, December 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Livingston Hall of the Livingston Student Center. Getting tested regularly is one of the most important things that students can do for their health, and it only takes 20 minutes. Students will not have to wait until the end of the semester to receive their results.

Learning Centers Open Late for Night Against Procrastination—All Students
The Learning Centers will be open late on Wednesday, November 29, for students who need extra support or a mental break. The Busch Learning Center and the College Avenue Learning Center will be offering their services for an extended time and will also have therapy animals and free brainfood on hand for students to enjoy. Getting tested regularly is one of the most important things that students can do for their health, and it only takes 20 minutes. Please consider getting tested for HIV and STIs on Monday, December 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Livingston Hall of the Livingston Student Center. Students will not have to wait until the end of the semester to receive their results.

Enrollment is open for the Winter 2024 payment plan and the 5-payment plan for Spring 2024. The last day to enroll in the 5-payment plan for Spring 2024 is December 5, 2023. Waiver: If you completed the waiver before the deadline and the premium was removed from the term bill, NO further action is required. Applications for the Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Program—Undergraduate Students (Juniors)
Applications are being accepted for the Undergraduate Associates Program at the Eagleton Institute of Politics. Associates build knowledge, skills, and networks for political, government, and community engagement. The program is a 3-semester interdisciplinary certificate for Juniors from all Rutgers schools and campuses. Associates will develop leadership and professional skills through a series of three unique courses (one per semester) and through summer or fall internship in politics, government, policy, or advocacy. Applications for the Bloustein School's Mary Ann and Steven J. Allard Fellowship Program—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and the Allard Family have established a fellowship for outstanding, declared, and non-traditional public health students who have demonstrated a personal commitment or outstanding academic potential in their public health studies. For 2023–2024, two eligible undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA will be selected as fellows to receive $2,000 each. The deadline for applications is Friday, October 20, 2023.
