Dining plan change and cancellation requests for the Fall 2024 semester are now being accepted online. The deadline to reduce or cancel the Fall 2024 meal plan is Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Schedule of Classes for Winter Session Now Available—All Students
The schedule of classes for the Winter 2025 term is now available. Make progress towards a degree during the winter and choose from 125+ courses in a variety of subjects. Plan schedules before registration begins on October 7. Learn more about winter session here. Please note that Rutgers first-year students who enrolled in the fall are not eligible to register for Winter Session.

Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2025 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The January deadline is January 15, 2025. Students may view and pay Fall 2024 term bills online at paymybill.rutgers.edu.

Rutgers Tuition Payment Plans—All Students
The Rutgers Tuition Payment Plan allows students to pay tuition and fees over time in an interest-free plan that automatically deducts the amount from bank accounts via e-check payments, credit cards, or debit cards. The last day to enroll in the Fall 2024 2-payment plan is October 5, 2024. Learn more about payment plans here.

Enroll in Direct Deposit for Faster Refunds—All Students 
Direct deposit is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds issued by Rutgers. View instructions for setting up direct deposit here. International students who are eligible for a refund can enroll in direct deposit using a U.S. bank account. Please note that direct deposit is currently not available for summer or winter refunds. Students not enrolled in direct deposit will receive a pop-up alert on the myRutgers portal that must be acknowledged.

Residency Reclassification Deadline—All Students 
The Residency Reclassification deadline for graduate and undergraduate students is Monday, November 4, 2024. The application and all supporting evidence must be submitted by this date. Learn more about the application here.

Health Insurance Waiver and Enrollment Forms—All Students
The waiver/enrollment forms are accessible for Fall 2024 at www.universityhealthplans.com. Rutgers requires full-time and all F&J Rutgers visa sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each semester before the deadline. The Health Insurance premium is automatically added to the term bill each semester. Mandatory action is required each semester. The SHIP is optional for part-time students and the premium is not added to the term bill.

• Deadline date: September 25, 2024
  Rate: $1,233.00
• WAIVING? If you have comparable health insurance, you may complete the waiver to get the premium removed from your term bill. If you failed to waive before the deadline, your enrollment in the SHIP will be processed, and you will then be responsible for paying the premium on the term bill even though you have other health insurance.
• ENROLLING? Complete the enrollment form before the deadline. Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. If an enrollment form was not completed before the deadline, your insurance card may not be available for several weeks. Failure to have the insurance card may put you at financial risk to pay out-of-pocket for medical care and prescription medication. Be proactive and enroll before the deadline to avoid financial risk, and the need to file for reimbursement directly with UHCSR.

TA/GA Graduate Fellow Payroll Deduction—TAs, GAs, and Graduate Fellows
TAs, GAs, and Graduate Fellows may enroll in payroll deduction to make payments for charges not covered by tuition remission, such as housing, dining, or student fees. Please complete the online form to enroll in payroll deduction. The deadline to enroll in the 8-payment deduction plan is by 3 p.m. on September 19, 2024.

Staff/Faculty Taxable Remission—Graduate Students Who Are Staff/Faculty
Please be aware that the full value of staff/faculty graduate tuition remission is subject to federal and New Jersey state tax withholding. In addition, under federal regulations, any graduate tuition remission benefit over $5,250 per calendar year is also considered taxable. Please refer to the 2024 Tax Withholding Schedule for the 2024 withholding dates.

myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. General

Guidelines for Free Expression on Campus—All Students
As part of Free Expression at Rutgers, guidelines were created that outline the steps that members of the community must take when engaging in expressive activities. These guidelines are intended to provide for the safety of participants to engage in freedom of expression while avoiding the disruption of educational, clinical research, or business functions at the university. Students should familiarize themselves with these guidelines and include the application and permitting process, approved locations, permissible times, noise standards, and appropriate conduct for free expression events. Students will also find standards for tabling, posting of flyers, and protesting campus speakers and/or events. Consistent with existing policies, no encampments will be permitted. 

Register Local Addresses—All Students
Students who are renting in the local community must register local addresses and emergency contact information with Off-Campus Living & Community Partnerships in order to be kept updated on municipal information, programming, emergency alerts, and other helpful information related to living off-campus.

Student Basic Needs & Rutgers Food Pantry—All Students
Students facing challenges in accessing adequate amounts of food, housing, financial, or other resources are encouraged to check the Student Basic Needs website for more information regarding food and housing assistance, utility assistance, child care resources, emergency aid, and more. 

Make a Plan to Vote in the November 5 Election—All Students
Students planning to vote in the upcoming Presidential Election on Tuesday, November 5, should make plans to successfully register to vote and cast ballots. The RU Voting Program at the Center for Youth Political Participation reminds all eligible voters to check their voter registration status and update their voter registration by the Tuesday, October 15 deadline at 11:59 p.m. Students who are already registered at the correct location can decide in advance to vote by mail, vote early at an early voting site, or on Election Day on November 5. Fall 2024 Flu Vaccination Clinics will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

Academic Success Series, Monday Motivation, Friday Focus, and BASS Workshops Begin—All Students
The Rutgers Learning Centers invite students to learn how to build study schedules with Academic Coaching workshops this semester. A drop–in Build-a Study-Schedule (BASS) workshop takes place on September 10 at the Busch Learning Center, and the first Academic Success Series workshop “Plan Your Success” begins on September 12. The Center for Continuing Professional Development offers test preparation classes to help students prepare for the LSAT, GMAT, GRE, and Praxis exams. Applications for the Bloustein School's Mary Ann and Steven J. Allard Fellowship Program—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and the Allard Family have established a fellowship for outstanding, declared, and non-traditional public health students who have demonstrated a personal commitment or outstanding academic potential in their public health studies. For 2024–2025, two eligible undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA will be selected as fellows to receive $2,000 each. The deadline for applications is Friday, October 18, 2024. Required Online Trainings for First-Year Students—Undergraduate Students
The Compliance & Title IX Office is committed to ensuring a safe and respectful campus environment. All incoming first-year undergraduate students are required to complete two trainings: U Got This! and Binge Thinking. These trainings educate and empower students on sexual violence prevention and alcohol education. Failure to complete both trainings by September 1 will result in a registration hold and the inability to register for Spring 2025 classes. Training may be accessed through the myRutgers dashboard. Health Insurance Waiver and Enrollment Forms—All Students
The waiver/enrollment forms are accessible for Fall 2024 at www.universityhealthplans.com. Rutgers requires full-time and all F&J Rutgers visa sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each semester before the deadline. The Health Insurance premium is automatically added to the term bill each semester. Mandatory action is required each semester. The SHIP is optional for part-time students and the premium is not added to the term bill.

• Deadline date: September 25, 2024
  Rate: $1,233.00
• WAIVING? If you have comparable health insurance, you may complete the waiver to get the premium removed from your term bill. If you failed to waive before the deadline, your enrollment in the SHIP will be processed, and you will then be responsible for paying the premium on the term bill even though you have other health insurance.
• ENROLLING? Complete the enrollment form before the deadline. Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. If an enrollment form was not completed before the deadline, your insurance card may not be available for several weeks. Failure to have the insurance card may put you at financial risk to pay out-of-pocket for medical care and prescription medication. Be proactive and enroll before the deadline to avoid financial risk, and the need to file for reimbursement directly with UHCSR.

TA/GA Graduate Fellow Payroll Deduction—TAs, GAs, and Graduate Fellows
TAs, GAs, and Graduate Fellows may enroll in payroll deduction to make payments for charges not covered by tuition remission, such as housing, dining, or student fees. Students facing challenges in accessing adequate amounts of food, housing, financial, or other resources are encouraged to check the Student Basic Needs website for more information regarding food and housing assistance, utility assistance, child care resources, emergency aid, and more. 

Make a Plan to Vote in the November 5 Election—All Students
Students planning to vote in the upcoming Presidential Election on Tuesday, November 5, should make plans to successfully register to vote and cast ballots. The RU Voting Program at the Center for Youth Political Participation reminds all eligible voters to check their voter registration status and update their voter registration by the Tuesday, October 15 deadline at 11:59 p.m. Students who are already registered at the correct location can decide in advance to vote by mail, vote early at an early voting site, or on Election Day on November 5. Students are encouraged to register for Commencement parking passes for the ceremony on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at SHI Stadium on the Busch Campus. Students may receive up to two parking passes. A confirmation email will be sent upon registration and physical passes will be mailed in early May. Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing May 2024 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The May deadline is May 15, 2024. Any questions concerning a diploma application can be submitted to the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office via this webform. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Financial

2023-2024 Academic Year Deadline to Accept Federal Direct Loans—All Students
Students are reminded to check the status of their Federal Direct Loans and any financial aid documents that might be pending on their myRutgers Portal. The deadline to accept Federal Direct Loans is April 28, 2024. First-time loan borrowers will also need to complete Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note (MPN) when choosing to accept a Federal Direct Loan. Learn more about Federal Direct Loans here.

Rutgers has partnered with Nelnet Campus Commerce to allow students to pay tuition and fees over time in an interest-free plan that automatically deducts the amount from bank accounts via e-check payments, credit cards, or debit cards. Sunday, May 5, 2024, is the last day to enroll in the 3-payment tuition plans for Summer 2024 and Advanced Standing/Third Term 2024 semesters. Residency Reclassification Deadline—All Students

The GradGuard Tuition Insurance Plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events that force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered medical reason, including illness, injury, and mental health conditions. Please be aware that the full value of staff/faculty graduate tuition remission is subject to federal and New Jersey state tax withholding. In addition, under federal regulations, any graduate tuition remission benefit over $5,250 per calendar year is also considered taxable. The New Brunswick Payment Center at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall on the Busch Campus will be operating as follows: Wednesday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, it is strongly encouraged that students use electronic payment methods instead of cash payments for paying term bills. Register for Commencement Parking at SHI Stadium—All Students
Students are encouraged to register for Commencement parking passes for the ceremony on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at SHI Stadium on the Busch Campus. All cars on the Busch, Livingston, and College Avenue campuses will need a Commencement Day parking hangtag because regular semester parking permits will be invalid. Students may receive up to two parking passes. A confirmation email will be sent upon registration and physical passes will be mailed in early May. Students who have an internship this summer and want to receive course credit are encouraged to apply to the Rutgers Internship and Co-op Course (RICC). Students are invited to the Spring Career & Internship Fair on April 26, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Jersey Mike's Arena on the Livingston Campus. #Rutgersworks Free Tuition Challenge—All Students
The Office of Career Exploration and Success is giving away FREE Fall 2024 tuition and other prizes for all currently registered Rutgers–New Brunswick students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The #RutgersWorks Free Tuition Challenge is a passport game where students can actively participate in career-related activities and events to earn stamps towards free tuition. Students earn stamps by attending events, utilizing online tools, or engaging with the resources listed on the game board. Students who complete at least ten challenge requirement stamps are entered into a drawing for free tuition for Fall 2024 at $6,837. GradGuard Tuition Insurance—All Students 
The GradGuard Tuition Insurance Plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events that force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered medical reason, including illness, injury, and mental health conditions. Staff/Faculty Taxable Remission—Graduate Students Who Are Staff/Faculty
Please be aware that the full value of staff/faculty graduate tuition remission is subject to federal and New Jersey state tax withholding. In addition, under federal regulations, any graduate tuition remission benefit over $5,250 per calendar year is also considered taxable. New Brunswick Payment Center's Updated Hours of Operation—All Students
