Student Accounting Is Now on the Rutgers App—All Students
Student accounts are now on the Rutgers App. Students now have the ability to pay their bills, sign up for direct deposit, complete their exit counseling, and get “Quick Links” to Student Account information at their fingertips.
View and Pay Spring Semester Term Bills—All Students
Students can view and pay their spring semester term bills at paymybill.rutgers.edu. Term bills not paid by the due date will be assessed a late payment fee of $125.00. Students can also choose to enroll in a payment plan for assistance with paying their term bill balances at paymentplans.rutgers.edu. Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to make payments on their behalf. Simply log into the term bill and use the “Manage Access” section to provide access to the designated payer.
Remission on Term Bill
Student Accounting, Billing and Cashier Services (Student ABC) is pleased to announce an enhanced process which displays estimated tuition remission on the Online Term Bill (OTB) for all eligible and appointed remission recipients. Once a student is eligible and appointed, Student ABC will display the estimated tuition remission amount on OTB. With the estimated amount displayed, students will now have the opportunity to proactively address any term bill charges due, that is not covered by the remission benefit, if applicable.
1098Ts
Students now have access to view and print the 2019 1098T tax forms for Educational Tax Credits. Students with scholarships and grant aid greater than their qualified tuition and fee charges are not eligible to claim a tax deduction and will not see a 1098T form. Sign Up for Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to sign up for direct deposit with RU ScholarRefund for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited. Learn more and enroll in RU ScholarRefund here.
The Residential Student Experience Survey Opens on February 12—Undergraduate Students
Help Residence Life enhance the on-campus living experience by completing the Residential Student Experience Survey by February 14, 2020. Students who complete the survey will be entered to win one of two $100 Amazon gift cards. Students who complete the survey between February 15 and March 10 will be entered to win one of twelve $50 Amazon gift cards. Students should check their emails for the survey link.
Commencement Speaker 2021 and Honorary Degree Nomination Process—All Students
Rutgers is now accepting commencement speaker and honorary degree nominations for the May 2021 ceremony at Rutgers University–New Brunswick (including Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences). Because speakers will also be awarded an honorary degree, nominations for the university commencement speaker should also follow the guidelines for honorary degree candidates. Speaker nominees should be someone who is engaging and interesting with broad appeal to a diverse audience. Nominations for the commencement speaker and honorary degrees to be awarded in May 2021 will be accepted until February 14, 2020. More information on the nomination process is available here.
2020 Summer Session Schedule Now Available—All Students
The schedule of classes for the Summer 2020 term is now available. Choose from more than 2,500 courses in a wide range of subjects, offered in-person, online, or at an off-campus location throughout the state. Make progress towards a degree, improve a GPA, or fulfill a prerequisite this summer. Start planning schedules now and register beginning Monday, February 17. Learn more about Summer Session here.
Applications for SC&I Undergraduate Admission—Undergraduate Students
The School of Communication and Information (SC&I) is now accepting applications for admission to the Communication, Information Technology and Informatics, and Journalism and Media Studies majors. View admission requirements and access the online application here. The deadline for applications is February 14, 2020. Applications for the European Summer Institute—All Students
The Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting study abroad applications from graduate and high-achieving undergraduate students for the European Summer Institute. This six-week home-stay program exposes students to courses on the EU, UN, migration, gender, and development. The program is in english. The application deadline is February 15, 2020. Rutgers Day Program Submissions—All Students
The Rutgers Day program submission period is now open. All academic and administrative units, student clubs and organizations, and performance groups are encouraged to submit a program and participate in the largest annual outreach event the university offers. Rutgers Day is on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and programs must be submitted by February 17. Visit the Rutgers Day website by logging in with a NetID to submit a program, review guidelines and policies, and download marketing materials to promote activities.
Summer Conference Student Recruitment with Free On-Campus Housing and Pay—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students looking for summer employment are welcome to apply for a position as a Residence Life Conference Services employee. Students will receive free on-campus housing and will be paid $11/hour. Apply by March 13, 2020. Rutgers Internship Excellence Awards—Undergraduate Students
The Rutgers Internship Excellence Awards, sponsored by the Office of Career Exploration and Success, was established to help recognize the outstanding contributions of Rutgers–New Brunswick undergraduate interns. Winners will be recognized at the Career Knights of Distinction awards dinner on Thursday, April 30, and also receive a $200 award. The application deadline is March 1, 2020. Applications for the Rutgers Law 3+3 Program (Bachelor’s/J.D. Dual Degree)—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students considering law school can complete the Rutgers Law 3+3 Program in just six years, instead of the usual seven years to earn an undergraduate and law degree. The program is open to students across all Rutgers campuses who complete the application process by March 1 of their third undergraduate year. Applications for the LEx Leader Corps—Undergraduate Students
Students looking to hold a leadership position on campus may consider becoming a LEx Leader. Leadership and Experiential Learning is looking for passionate and driven students to help coordinate the Mark Conference, lead Alternative Breaks, or be the face of the office as an Ambassador. Each role is designed to provide hands-on leadership experience and will help develop transferable skills. The application deadline is March 24, 2020. Applications for the Eagleton Fellowship Program Now Open to All Schools/Campuses—Graduate Students
Applications are now available for the 2020–2021 Eagleton Fellowship Program in Politics and Government and is open to Rutgers graduate students in all schools on the New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden campuses. Stipends and tuition remission are available. Fellows learn about real-world American politics, government, and public affairs. Students may complete the program while pursuing a degree, and an interdisciplinary cohort and curriculum connects the fellowship experience to a chosen field of study. Student Credit Available for 4th Annual Writers' Conference—All Students
Students looking to sharpen writing skills, earn 1.5 credits, and network with agents, editors, and publishers this summer are encouraged to attend the 4th Annual Writers’ Conference. The conference is held from June 5-7, 2020. Students can hear from bestselling novelists including Jane Smiley (A Thousand Acres), Billy Collins (Sailing Alone Around the Room: New & Selected Poems), and many others. Students may apply to attend the conference for free by March 13 if registering for no credits. Learn more and register here.
