Spring 2023 Add/Drop Dates—Undergraduate Students
January 26: Last day to drop courses without a "W" grade, and last day to add courses.
March 20: Last day to withdraw from a course with a “W” grade.
May 3: Last day to withdraw from the University for Spring 2023.

Dining Plan Change and Cancellation Requests—All Students
Dining plan change and cancellation requests for the Spring 2023 semester are now being accepted online. The deadline to reduce or cancel the Spring 2023 meal plan is Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

Financial

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students
Rutgers requires full-time and all F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each semester before the deadline. The Health Insurance premium is automatically added to the term bill each semester. The SHIP is optional for part-time students and the premium is not added to the term bill. The deadline to waive or enroll is February 10, 2023.

• WAIVING? Students who have comparable health insurance may complete the waiver to get the premium removed from their term bills. Students who have failed to waive before the deadline will have enrollment in the SHIP processed and will then be responsible for paying the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance.
• ENROLLING? Students who do not have health insurance should complete the enrollment form. Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. Students should complete the enrollment form each semester to finalize the process.

Taxable Tuition Remission—Students Who are Staff or Faculty
Please be aware that the full value of staff/faculty graduate tuition remission is subject to federal and New Jersey state tax withholding. In addition, under federal regulations, any graduate tuition remission benefit over $5,250 per calendar year is also considered taxable. Please refer to the 2023 Tax Withholding Schedule for Spring 2023 withholding dates.

1098-T Forms—All Students
1098-T forms will be available electronically on January 31, 2023. View instructions on accessing the form here.

TA/GA/Fellows Payroll Deduction—Graduate Students
TAs, GAs, and Graduate Fellows may enroll in payroll deduction to make payments for charges not covered by tuition remission, such as housing, dining, or student fees. Please complete the online form to enroll in payroll deduction and view the Spring 2023 payroll deduction schedule here.

Spring 2023 Payment Plans—All Students
Spring 2023 payment plans are open for enrollment and students can pay term bills in convenient monthly payments. The last day to enroll in a 3-payment plan for Spring 2023 is February 5, 2023. Learn more about creating a payment plan here.

Set Up Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Direct deposit is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds issued by Rutgers. All students are required to enroll in direct deposit. Please note that direct deposit is currently not available for summer or winter refunds. View instructions for setting up direct deposit here.

Cash Payments—All Students
Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, it is strongly encouraged that students use electronic payment methods instead of cash payments for paying term bills. Please review payment options and the Cash Handling Policy for more information.

GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
Rutgers University has partnered with GradGuard to make the Tuition Protection Insurance Plan available to students and families. The plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events that force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered medical reason, including mental health conditions and illness from epidemic and pandemic diseases. myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Rutgers University 257^th Anniversary Commencement—Graduating Students
The 2023 Rutgers–New Brunswick and RBHS Commencement ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at SHI Stadium. Information regarding regalia sales, parking registration, shout out filming, day-of information, and more is available on the website. More information will be sent to students' ScarletMail accounts, and family and friends are also able to sign up for email updates regarding Commencement. Study Group Registration Now Open—All Students
The Learning Centers invite students to register for a study group in order to have a better understanding of course material and acquire effective learning strategies. Study group leaders review course material with students and integrate study strategies—such as note taking, problem solving, and test preparation—that link course content with cognitive skill development. View the list of classes and register here. Study Group participants earn higher average final course grades than if they had studied alone.

Register for a Byrne Seminar—First Year Students
First year students seeking more credits or a unique exploratory course are invited to register for a 1-credit Byrne Seminar. Select courses still have seats remaining. Topics include: Interdisciplinary Entrepreneur, Play to Learn, Health Justice, Feeding the Planet, and more. Applications for the Rutgers-Eagleton Washington Internship Award—Undergraduate Students
The Eagleton Institute of Politics is accepting applications for the Rutgers-Eagleton Washington Internship Award. The $6,000 award supports outstanding Rutgers students who are interested in completing an unpaid, non-profit government internship in Washington D.C. during Summer 2023. This opportunity is open to all class years, including first years and graduating seniors, all majors, and all campus locations. Applicants do not need to have an internship secured at the time of application. The application deadline is Friday, February 10, 2023, at 5 p.m. Learn more and apply here.

Applications for the UNMA Study Abroad Program–European Summer Institute at the University of Kassel (Germany)—All Students
The Department of Political Science's Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) is accepting applications from graduate and high-achieving undergraduate students for the European Summer Institute (ESI) study abroad program. This home-stay 4-week summer program is open to all majors and offers students cultural immersion and exposure to courses on European politics and policies. Applications for the Master’s Program in Political Science–Concentration in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies & Virtual Information Sessions—Undergraduate Students
The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time period. The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is accepting applications for their master’s programs in Public Informatics, Health Administration, and Public Affairs & Politics. Success.rutgers.edu is dedicated to helping students find all of the services and resources to succeed and is organized around four themes: Success Essentials, Academic Support Services, Involvement & Community, and Experiential Learning & Career Preparation. The site is easily searchable and includes important "How To" instructional videos and guides for topics such as Course Scheduling, Add/Drop, Canvas, Teams, the Handshake Career Management platform, and more.

Jobs, Internships and Leadership Positions

Students should regularly check out the employment listings available on Rutgers Handshake, your primary career management portal brought to you by the Office of Career Exploration and Success. On-campus part-time jobs are also regularly posted to the platform by campus departments.

Spring Career & Internship Mega Fair—All Students
The Spring Career & Internship Mega Fair will be held in-person on February 16 and February 17 at Jersey Mike's Arena on the Livingston Campus. Over 230+ employers (different employers each day) will be available to network with candidates to discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields. This event is only open to Rutgers University (New Brunswick, Camden, Newark, and RBHS) students and alumni from all academic disciplines. Learn more about the mega fair here.

Intern For a Day—Undergraduate Students
The Intern for a Day program offers students an immersive experience connecting classroom learning with exposure to different employers and careers and providing insight into possible future job settings.
