Financial Holds—All Students
Financial holds will be placed on accounts with unpaid balances, preventing students from registering for Fall 2020. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should ensure they are on track to satisfy spring balances before the last installment is due, and financial aid recipients should ensure all aid has been credited. Spring Break Hall Closing—All Students
Certain residence halls on the Rutgers–New Brunswick campus will close at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 13, for the beginning of Spring Break. Residence halls will re-open on Sunday, March 22, at 10 a.m. Prior to moving out, please consult and complete the closing checklist in its entirety to help ensure that all students may return to a welcoming community after break. Residence Life staff will conduct closing room checks. Students should contact their Residence Life staff with any questions. View a full list of buildings closing for break here.
University Commencement Special Needs Parking Hangtag Registration Is Open—All Students
The University Commencement Office coordinates with the Rutgers Office of Disability Services to ensure that guests enjoy visiting campus on Commencement Day. For those with disabilities or requiring other accommodations for University Commencement on Sunday, May 17, 2020, parking registration is now open. Additional information for seating, alternate viewing options, traveling on campus, and more can be found on the Accessibility Information with Special Needs or Disabilities page of the University Commencement website.
Make A Difference–Volunteer at University Commencement—All Students
The Office of the Secretary is seeking volunteer Ambassadors for Rutgers University’s 254th Anniversary Commencement. Ambassadors are the volunteer force that helps University Commencement to celebrate and honor the hard work and dedication of Rutgers graduates. Ambassadors who volunteer receive parking, a t-shirt, gift, recognition on the stadium video board, entry into a raffle, and breakfast. Register now to help make University Commencement an exciting day for the Class of 2020!
Call for Student Workers for Rutgers Day—All Students
Students may sign up to work for Rutgers Day, which is Saturday, April 25. Various positions are available between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for $11 per hour. Students who are interested should complete the application form.
2020 Summer Session Registration—All Students
Registration for Summer Session 2020 is ongoing. Choose from more than 2,500 courses in a wide range of subjects, offered in-person, online, or at an off-campus location throughout the state. Make progress towards a degree, improve a GPA, or fulfill a prerequisite this summer. Learn more about Summer Session here.
SMLR Human Resource Management Undergraduate Majors and Master’s Program—All Students
The School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) Human Resource Management (HRM) Department is currently accepting students for the undergraduate major and minor. Details about the bachelor's program can be found here. Applications are also being accepted for the HRM master’s program. There will be an information session for both programs on Thursday, March 5, from 5-7 p.m. in the Gathering Lounge of the Livingston Student Center. Learn more about the open house here.
The Residential Student Experience Survey—Undergraduate Students
Help Residence Life enhance the on-campus living experience by completing the Residential Student Experience Survey. Students who complete the survey before March 10 will be entered to win one of twelve $50 Amazon gift cards. Students should check their emails for the survey link.
Summer Conference Student Recruitment with Free On-Campus Housing and Pay—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students looking for summer employment are welcome to apply for a position as a Residence Life Conference Services employee. Students will receive free on-campus housing and will be paid $11/hour. Apply by March 13, 2020. Applications for the LEx Leader Corps—Undergraduate Students
Students looking to hold a leadership position on campus may consider becoming a LEx Leader. Leadership and Experiential Learning is looking for passionate and driven students to help coordinate the Mark Conference, lead Alternative Breaks, or be the face of the office as an Ambassador. Each role is designed to provide hands-on leadership experience and will help develop transferable skills. The application deadline is March 24, 2020. Spring 2020 SAS Major & Minor Fair—All Students
The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is hosting their Major & Minor Fair on Wednesday, March 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Livingston Student Center. Students have the opportunity to speak with representatives from different academic departments, programs, student services offices, and more. Registration for Fall 2020 courses is coming soon, and meeting with an academic advisor within SAS or a prospective major or minor can help with registration preparations. Applications for the Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship in Public Service—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy has established the Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship Program in Public Service to honor Mr. Voorhees' commitment to community service. Each year, the school selects undergraduates from any major at Rutgers–New Brunswick who are dedicated to civic engagement. Fellows receive $5,000 and participate in a credit-bearing partnership with community organizations. The application deadline is March 25. Learn more about the fellowship program and apply here.
Applications for the Eagleton Fellowship Program Now Open to All Schools/Campuses—Graduate Students
Applications are now available for the 2020–2021 Eagleton Fellowship Program in Politics and Government and is open to Rutgers graduate students in all schools on the New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden campuses. Stipends and tuition remission are available. Fellows learn about real-world American politics, government, and public affairs. Students may complete the program while pursuing a degree, and an interdisciplinary cohort and curriculum connects the fellowship experience to a chosen field of study. Student Credit Available for 4th Annual Writers' Conference—All Students
Students looking to sharpen writing skills, earn 1.5 credits, and network with agents, editors, and publishers this summer are encouraged to attend the 4th Annual Writers’ Conference. The conference is held from June 5-7, 2020. Students can hear from bestselling novelists including Jane Smiley (A Thousand Acres), Billy Collins (Sailing Alone Around the Room: New & Selected Poems), and many others. Students may apply to attend the conference for free by March 13 if registering for no credits. Learn more and register here.

Undergraduate students anticipating completing May 2020 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy (PDF) if the deadline has been missed. Women’s Day at Douglass is in honor of International Women’s Day and presented by the Douglass Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program.
