Important Information Regarding COVID-19
The Universitywide COVID-19 Information Page is your official source of information about the university’s response to COVID-19. This page has resources for students and parents along with announcements pertaining to COVID-19, FAQs, and the operating statuses of services, facilities, and offices at Rutgers. You are encouraged to check this site frequently.

Chosen/Preferred Name—All Students
Since September 2014, Rutgers University has recognized that members of the university community use names other than their legal names. In an effort to continue to promote the comfort and safety of students who wish to be identified by a name other than their legal name, the university has updated the preferred name procedure. Students may now submit their chosen/preferred name directly via ScarletHub. Learn more about this process here.

2021 Summer Session Registration—All Students
Registration for Summer Session 2021 is ongoing. Choose from over 2,500 courses in a wide range of subjects. Make progress toward graduation, improve your GPA, or fulfill a prerequisite this summer. Learn more about Summer Session here.

Pass/No Credit Option for Spring 2021—Undergraduate Students
The Pass/No Credit option remains available to undergraduate students for courses taken during the Spring 2021 semester. Students should evaluate this option carefully and in consultation with academic advisors at their school to understand the full ramifications of such a decision for their particular academic major, career path, and financial aid standing. COVID-19 Testing Information & Contact Tracing—All Students
All students living in campus housing, living off-campus in the New Brunswick/Piscataway area, and students in groups required to receive testing can access testing through Rutgers Student HealthDetails about testing can be found here.

  • Off-campus students must register their local address here. Local addresses are needed in order for public health officials to properly track and respond to the pandemic.
  • There is no cost for testing through Rutgers Student Health.
  • Students who experience symptoms, had contact with someone who tested positive, are worried, or are unsure about getting tested, should call Rutgers Student Health at 848-932-7402. Student Health will schedule a same-day appointment time to speak with a clinician, answer questions, and provide a test that day.
  • Students who are contacted by a Contact Tracer are highly encouraged to speak with them. Contact Tracers provide valuable information and resources to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

2021 Graduates: Share Your Road to Graduation Story—All Students
2021 graduates are encouraged to submit stories about their road to graduation and all of its hurdles and triumphs. Stories should be 500 words or less, and include the student's name, school, major, and photo for consideration in future communications. Please email entries to commencement@rutgers.edu by midnight on March 31.

Applications & Information Sessions for Road to Wall Street (RTWS) Program: Cohort 11—Undergraduate Students
Applications for the Rutgers Road to Wall Street Program at the Rutgers Business School are now being accepted. Rising sophomores are invited to apply by April 9, 2021. Information sessions offer an opportunity to hear about the program and learn more about the professional opportunities it provides and about the application process. Learn more about the program and view the information session schedule here.

Black Mentoring Circle—All Students
The Paul Robeson Cultural Center invites the Rutgers community to join in this month’s Black Mentoring Circle. With a new topic each month, the Circle provides a virtual space where students can participate in guided educational discourse relevant to the Black student experience. April's discussion is titled Black and Abroad and takes place on April 5 at 6 p.m. Learn more and access upcoming sessions here.

Connecting with Learning Center Academic Support Services—All Students
While classes are being offered remotely and the Learning Center locations are closed, students can access a virtual help desk to "drop in" and ask questions related to accessing services and succeeding in classes. Connect to the Virtual Help Desk from 10 a.m. to 7p.m., Monday through Friday. Learning Center staff remain dedicated to students' success and are still here to support virtually. Register for a TA Project Workshop—Graduate Students
Graduate students are invited to register for workshops offered by the TA Project at the School of Graduate Studies. These workshops cover a wide range of topics to assist TAs with their continued professional development. These sessions, designed for current and future graduate student TAs, are free. During the Spring 2021 semester, all workshops will be held remotely via Zoom. Learn more about the program and see the list of scheduled workshops here.

Applications for the Master’s Program in Political Science–Concentration in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies—Undergraduate Students
The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time period. Learn more about UNMA here and email amf322@polisci.rutgers.edu with any questions.

Did You Know

Did you know that the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is hosting the Major & Minor Fair on April 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. virtually via Canvas, Zoom, and Webex? Students will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from different academic departments, programs, student services offices, and more. Registration for Fall 2021 courses is coming soon, and meeting with an academic advisor within SAS or a prospective major/minor will help you prepare! Learn more about the fair here.
