Change in Designation of Class Day—All Students
Due to the Thanksgiving recess, there are no classes on Wednesday, November 24. Monday, November 29, follows a Wednesday class schedule.

One Stop Student Services Center Closing Early on Wednesday, November 24—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, and remain closed through the Thanksgiving break. The center will resume normal hours on Monday, November 29.

Spring 2022 Pre-Registration—Undergraduate Students
Pre-Registration for Spring 2022 begins on Monday, November 29, at 9 a.m. for New Brunswick undergraduate students with 105+ credits and continues through Thursday, December 9. Last Day to Withdraw from University—Undergraduate Students
The last day to withdraw from the university for Fall 2021 is November 22, 2021. View the Fall 2021 Undergraduate Calendar here. For assistance, please contact the One Stop Student Services Center.

Registration for Winter Term Is Now Open—All Students
Registration for the Winter 2022 term has begun. Earn credits towards a degree during winter break and choose from 150 courses in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about Winter Session here.

Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2022 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online, or a hard copy (PDF) if the deadline has been missed. The January deadline is January 15, 2022. For any questions concerning a diploma application, please call 848-445-4636 (INFO) and select option 6, or submit an inquiry to the One Stop Student Services Center. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Financial

Financial Aid Application Available—All Students
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available for the 2022–2023 academic year. Please file before the January 15, 2022, priority deadline to ensure eligibility for all available aid programs. The following is needed to file a FAFSA:

•    An FSA ID
•    Student's Social Security Number
•    2020 Federal Tax information for student and student's parents
•    Rutgers Federal School Code: 002629

Financial Holds—All Students 
Financial holds have been placed on accounts with unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for spring semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.

Set Up Electronic Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to set up direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited electronically. Learn more about electronic deposit here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Health

Student Health Insurance Waiver Appeals—All Students
The deadline to waive or enroll in student health insurance was September 21. Updated waiver appeal information is as follows:

Failed to Waive? Students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2021. F and J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu.

Failed to Enroll? Students are now enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan. Insurance cards should have been accessible starting October 5, 2021, and an account must be created to access the card.  

Students may view the summary of benefits and other information here. Please note that the enrollment process can take several weeks, which will delay access to insurance cards. Students are encouraged to be proactive and enroll before the deadline in order to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care and then seeking reimbursement. 

General

Academic Master Plan Student Survey—All Students
The Rutgers–New Brunswick Academic Master Plan will serve as the roadmap for the institution’s future. Students are encouraged to complete this survey regarding their academic experiences at Rutgers, support in and out of the classroom, career and professional development, and other topics to ensure that student voices are heard. Students who submit surveys will be entered in a random drawing for three iPads and three RU Express gift cards. Priority Housing for Living-Learning Opportunities—Undergraduate Students
Current undergraduate students can apply to live in Living-Learning Communities (LLC) at no extra cost for the 2022–2023 academic year. Students in learning communities enjoy the benefits of priority housing and sharing common residential and academic experiences with a close community of friends. Academics

Personal Academic Coaching for College Success—All Students
Academic Coaches work with students one-on-one to help examine their strengths and identify areas in need of improvement in order to help students reach their full academic potential. Students will develop time management, organization, study skills, test-taking skills, and conquer procrastination. Coaches will assess the student’s academic concerns and aid them in employing the necessary strategies to address them. Students will have the opportunity to work together with coaches to create a personalized academic success plan to support their academic goals across all courses. Applications for the IWL Leadership Scholars Certificate Program—Undergraduate Students
The Institute for Women's Leadership (IWL) is now accepting applications for the Leadership Scholars Certificate Program. This highly selective, 19-credit program is designed for students of all majors who want to learn more about women's leadership and contributions to social change, and who want to enhance their own leadership abilities. Students must have two years to complete the program and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Learn more and apply here.

Applications for the European Summer Institute in Germany by Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies—All Students
The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from graduate and high-achieving undergraduate students from all majors for the European Summer Institute at the University of Kassel in Germany. This 6-week study abroad summer program is for students looking for international experience.

Applications for the Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies—Undergraduate Students
The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time period. Learn more and access the application here.
