Important Information Regarding COVID-19

Temporary Construction Closure of One Stop Student Services Center on October 15—All Students
Due to construction, walk-in services for One Stop Student Services Center at Dr. Samuel DeWitt Proctor Hall on the Busch Campus will be closed on Friday, October 15. Normal operating hours will resume on Monday, October 18. During the closure, One Stop can still be reached via the contact form here.
Rutgers–New Brunswick Campus Bus System Survey—All Students
Click here to take the Rutgers University–New Brunswick Campus Bus System Survey. Participation will assist in informing future enhancements to the system to improve the student experience. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and will be open until Friday, October 22. Participants who complete the survey may enter into a drawing to win one of seven $100 gift cards to kite + key, the Rutgers Tech Store.
Registration for Winter Term Is Now Open—All Students
Registration for the Winter 2022 term has begun. Earn credits towards a degree during winter break and choose from 150 courses in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about Winter Session here.
Fall 2021 Add-Drop Dates—Undergraduate Students
October 25: Last day to withdraw from a course with a "W" grade
November 22: Last day to withdraw from the university for Fall 2021

Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2022 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online, or a hard copy (PDF) if the deadline has been missed. The January deadline is January 15, 2022. For any questions concerning a diploma application, please contact the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office at 848-445-2757 (and ask for Tia Williams) or submit an inquiry to the One Stop Student Services Center. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.
Financial
Financial Aid Application Available—All Students
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available for the 2022–2023 academic year. Please file before the January 15, 2022, priority deadline to ensure eligibility for all available aid programs. The following is needed to file a FAFSA:
- An FSA ID
- Student's Social Security Number
- 2020 Federal Tax information for student and student's parents
- Rutgers Federal School Code: 002629

Financial Holds—All Students
Financial holds have been placed on accounts with unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for spring semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.
Set Up Electronic Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to set up direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited electronically. Learn more about electronic deposit here.
One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Health
Fall 2021 Flu Vaccination Clinics—All Students
Flu vaccination clinics run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Students must bring their student ID and insurance card. To save time, forms can be filled out in advance. Learn more and access the forms here.

Student Health Insurance Waiver Appeals—All Students
The deadline to waive or enroll in student health insurance was September 21. Updated waiver appeal information is as follows:
Failed to Waive? Students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2021. F and J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu.
Failed to Enroll? Students are now enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan. Insurance cards should be accessible by October 5, 2021, and an account must be created to access the card.
Students may view the summary of benefits and other information here. Please note that the enrollment process can take several weeks, which will delay access to insurance cards. Students are encouraged to be proactive and enroll before the deadline in order to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care and then seeking reimbursement.
General
Take the Scarlet Knight Challenge—Undergraduate Students
To assist new students in building connections with the Rutgers community and learning about essential campus services, New Student Orientation and Family Programs has created the Scarlet Knight Challenge. This challenge will assist new students with navigating the campus, calming nerves that may arise, finding a place to call home on campus, making friends, and having fun while winning prizes. This challenge is exclusively open to all first-year and transfer students. Learn more about how to participate here.
Academics
Complete the Academic Integrity Module—Undergraduate Students
Academic integrity is essential to success at Rutgers, and all students are expected to abide by the Honor Pledge which states: “On my honor, I have neither received nor given any unauthorized assistance on this examination (assignment).” To fully understand the policy and some of the factors which can result in violations, students are expected to complete the Academic Integrity module which can be found on Canvas. Once logged in, the course can be found here.
Applications for the Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Program—Juniors in all Rutgers Schools
Applications are being accepted for the Undergraduate Associates Program at the Eagleton Institute of Politics. Associates learn about real-world politics and government, build knowledge, skills, and networks for political, government, and community engagement. Learn about power and decision-making while honing leadership and professional skills. This is a 3-course series (one each semester) and a summer or fall internship in politics, government, policy, or advocacy. Applications are due on November 5, 2021. Learn more and apply here.
Try a New Study Method by Joining a Study Group—All Students
The Learning Centers offer free study groups, open to all Rutgers students, both online and in-person. Study group participants earn higher average final course grades than if they studied alone, and are more actively involved in the course. By attending a study group, students will have a better understanding of course material and acquire effective learning strategies. Study group leaders review course material with students and integrate study strategies—note taking, problem solving, and test preparation—that link course content with cognitive skill development. Study group leaders are trained and supervised Rutgers students, selected by the course professor. View the list of classes and register here.
Register for the Rutgers Graduate School of Education's Five-Year Program Information Session—Undergraduate Students
The Graduate School of Education (GSE) is hosting a virtual information session for their five-year teacher preparation programs for initial licensure and certification on Friday, October 15, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Learn more about the five-year bachelor's/master's program with teaching certification from the top-ranked school of education in New Jersey. This session will explain how the GSE's five-year program works, admission requirements, and areas of licensure offered. Learn more and register here.
Register for School of Social Work's Master of Social Work Information Sessions—All Students

Register for Bloustein School's Master's in Public Policy, Urban Planning, and Public Informatics Information Sessions—All Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is hosting virtual information sessions for their master and graduate certificate programs in Public Policy, Urban Planning, and Public Informatics. The GRE is waived for 2022 and scholarships are available for Fall 2022. No work experience is necessary. Students must RSVP to attend an information session. Applications for the Bloustein School's Mary Ann and Steven J. Allard Fellowship Program—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and the Allard Family have established a fellowship for outstanding, declared, and non-traditional public health students who have demonstrated a personal commitment or outstanding academic potential in their public health studies. For 2021-2022, two eligible undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA will be selected as fellows to receive $2,000 each. The deadline for applications is October 15, 2021. It is important to check your voter registration status to verify where you are registered to vote and whether you need to update your address. If you are registered to vote at home but are currently living in on campus housing, you will need to update your voter registration to your current address. Learn more about voter registration here.
