Spring 2022 Add-Drop Dates—Undergraduate Students

Dining Plan Change and Cancellation Requests—All Students
Dining plan change and cancellation requests for the Spring 2022 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, February 15, 2022. This is the only time during the semester that reductions and cancellations will be allowed. Students can find the most up-to-date information about dining services and meal plans here.
RU Express Cancellation and Reduction Requests—All Students
RU Express initial deposit cancellation and reduction requests for the Spring 2022 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, February 15, 2022. This is the only time during the semester that cancellations or reductions will be allowed and only if the money for the Spring 2022 semester HAS NOT been used. Students can find the most up-to-date information about dining services and meal plans here.
Financial
New Financial Aid Program—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students in their third and fourth years of study may qualify for the Garden State Guarantee (GSG) commencing Fall 2022. The GSG is New Jersey’s promise to make a college degree more accessible and affordable by reducing the out-of-pocket costs for students and families. Eligible applicants must be New Jersey residents working toward their first bachelor’s degree and file the 2022–2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2022. View and Pay Spring Semester Term Bills—All StudentsSpring 2022 term bills are now available to view and make payment. Term bills not paid by the due date will be assessed a late payment fee of $125.00. Payments are accepted in the form of e-check or credit card and can be made via the online term bill. Please note that in-person cash payments are currently suspended due to COVID-19 protocols.
Rutgers Tuition Payment Plans—All Studentspaymentplans.rutgers.edu. Additional Spring 2022 payment plans have been created for students who missed the January 5 deadline and are available now.

2021 1098T tax forms were made available for students on January 31 for viewing and printing for Educational Tax Credits. Students with scholarships and grant aid greater than their qualified tuition and fee charges are not eligible to claim a tax deduction and will not see a 1098T form.One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Health
Student Health Insurance Information—All Students
Rutgers University requires full-time and all F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline each semester. The Health Insurance premium is automatically added to the term bill each semester for the 2021–2022 policy year. The spring open waiver/enrollment period ends on Thursday, February 17, 2022.
- Enrolling? Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. Students must complete the enrollment form before the deadline.
- Waiving? The premium will be removed from the term bill within 4 business days after submission of the waiver form.

Rutgers Student Food Pantry and No Hungry Knights Award—All Students
Students who are experiencing food insecurity can access the Rutgers Student Food Pantry at no cost. Only a valid RUID is required. Learn more about the Rutgers Student Food pantry and schedule an appointment here. In addition, students may apply for a No Hungry Knights Award. Created by generous donors, these awards fund full or partial meal plans for eligible students. Learn more and apply for the No Hungry Knights Award here.
Commencement Information—All Students
The Rutgers University–New Brunswick and Rutgers Biomedical & Health Sciences Commencement will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at SHI Stadium on the Busch Campus. School convocations are scheduled on the surrounding days. Please visit the Commencement website for more information regarding these events, regalia sales, and more. Students should continue to check their ScarletMail accounts as ceremony information will be sent via email. Family and friends are also able to sign up for the Commencement newsletter for up-to-date information on the upcoming May 15, 2022, ceremony.
Academics
Get Ahead with Classes: Tutoring, Study Groups, Academic Coaching, and Workshops—All Students
Students are encouraged to take advantage of services offered by the Rutgers Learning Centers. The Learning Centers helps students reach full academic potential by offering academic support and additional assistance for classes. Services also allow students to build connections with a community of learners, either in-person or online, while enhancing academic performance. New visitors to the Learning Centers, registered for either online or in-person services, will automatically be entered into a raffle. Learn more about services and the raffle here.
Funded Research in American Politics—Undergraduate Students
Research proposals are being accepted for the John & Ann Holt Endowed Undergraduate Applied Research Fund in American Politics. Rutgers juniors and seniors from all campuses can receive research support for undergraduate research on an issue of American politics of contemporary significance through a bipartisan lens. To apply, research proposals, unofficial transcripts, writing samples, and letters of recommendation should be submitted to ematto@eagleton.rutgers.edu by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022. Virtual Information Sessions for Bloustein School’s Graduate Certificate in Public & Urban Informatics—All Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is hosting a virtual information session for their graduate certificate in Public & Urban Informatics. The GRE is not required and no work experience is necessary. Convenient online course options are available. The application deadline for Fall 2022 is July 1, 2022. Students must RSVP to attend the information session on Thursday, February 24. Learn more and register for a session here.
Applications for the Rutgers–Eagleton Washington Internship Award Program—Undergraduate Students
The Rutgers–Eagleton Washington Internship Award Program provides up to $5,000 for outstanding Rutgers undergraduate students who are completing an in-person summer internship in the government/nonprofit sector. This program is meant to ease the financial burden of a summer internship in Washington, D.C., and is open to all campuses, class years, and majors. Students do not need to have an internship in place at the time of application. For Summer 2022, applications are due online by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022. Learn more about the program here.
Applications for the Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship in Public Service—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy has established the Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship Program in Public Service to honor Mr. Voorhees' commitment to community service. Each year, the school selects undergraduates from any major at Rutgers–New Brunswick who are dedicated to civic engagement. Fellows receive $5,000 and participate in a credit-bearing partnership with community organizations. Applications are due on March 4, 2022. Rutgers Virtual Career & Internship Fair—All Students
Students are invited to participate in one of the largest and most diverse recruiting opportunities in the nation on Thursday, February 17, from 1-4 p.m. An anticipated group of nearly 250 employers will be available to network with candidates to discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields. Rutgers Summer Service Internship (RSSI) Initiative—Undergraduate Students
Rutgers Summer Service Internship (RSSI) Initiative provides select students with an opportunity to earn up to $5,000 while interning for a minimum of 200-hours over 10 weeks during the summer at a public service non-profit organization or direct-service government office. Students also participate in a concurrent virtual, asynchronous course. Candidates may apply with a qualifying internship found on their own or participate in a matching process.
