Important Information Regarding COVID-19

Fall 2022 Pre-Registration—Undergraduate Students
Pre-registration for the Fall 2022 semester begins on Monday, April 4, at 9 a.m. for New Brunswick undergraduate students with 90+ credits and continues through Tuesday, April 12. Registration is by degree credits already earned. Please submit any questions via this contact form and view the pre-registration schedule here.

Registration for Summer Session—All Students
Registration for Summer Session 2022 is in progress. Choose from 2,500 course selections in a wide range of subjects. Get ahead or stay on track for graduation with courses this summer. Learn more about Summer Session here.

Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing May 2022 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The May diploma deadline is Sunday, May 15, 2022. Any questions concerning a diploma application can be sent to the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office via this contact form. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Financial

Scarlet Guarantee—Undergraduate Students Undergraduate students in their first and second years of study may qualify for the Scarlet Guarantee (SG) commencing Fall 2022. The SG, mirrored after the Garden State Guarantee, reflects Rutgers–New Brunswick's commitment to making a college degree more accessible and affordable by reducing the out-of-pocket costs for students and families. Eligible applicants must be New Jersey residents working toward their first bachelor’s degree and file the 2022–2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2022. Learn more about the Scarlet Guarantee here.

Garden State Guarantee—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students in their third and fourth years of study may qualify for the Garden State Guarantee (GSG) commencing Fall 2022. The GSG is New Jersey’s promise to make a college degree more accessible and affordable by reducing the out-of-pocket costs for students and families. Eligible applicants must be New Jersey residents working toward their first bachelor’s degree and file the 2022–2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2022. Financial Holds—All Students  Financial holds have been placed on accounts with unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for Fall 2022 semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.

Set Up Electronic Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students Students are strongly encouraged to set up direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited electronically. Learn more about electronic deposit here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Health

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students
Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline should follow these guidelines:

  • Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before April 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by April 30, 2022. A Rutgers ID number must be included for identification.
  • Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.

HIV and STI Testing—All Students
Rutgers Student Health is providing rapid result HIV and STI testing on Wednesday, April 6, at the Livingston Student Center from 2 to 7 p.m. Students should bring an RUID to participate. Please contact Mark Cruz at mark.cruz@rutgers.edu with any questions.
 

Academics

Accelerate Learning with Peer Coaching—All Students
The Rutgers Learning Centers offer peer coaching which helps students learn new study strategies, develop time management, and participate in facilitated small groups that are capped at 6 students per session. Peer coaching sessions provide individualized attention to help students become more effective learners. Register for peer coaching here. Sign into Penji and join the community titled "LC Academic Coaching." Then, click on "Join a peer coaching group session" and select "Peer coaching with Nicole”. Students who prefer to work one-on-one with a coach can make an appointment here.

Applications for the Eagleton Fellowship Program—Graduate Students
Applications are being accepted for the 2022–2023 Eagleton Fellowship Program in Politics and Government and is open to Rutgers graduate students in all schools on the New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden campuses. Stipends and tuition remission are available. Fellows learn about real-world American politics, government, and public affairs. Students may complete the program while pursuing a degree, and an interdisciplinary cohort and curriculum connects the fellowship experience to a chosen field of study. Funded Research in American Politics—Undergraduate Students
Research proposals are being accepted for the John & Ann Holt Endowed Undergraduate Applied Research Fund in American Politics. Rutgers juniors and seniors from all campuses can receive research support for undergraduate research on an issue of American politics of contemporary significance through a bipartisan lens. To apply, research proposals, unofficial transcripts, writing samples, and letters of recommendation should be submitted to ematto@eagleton.rutgers.edu by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022. Applications Open for the Bloustein School’s Graduate Certificate in Public Policy—All Students
Applications for the graduate certificate in Public Policy at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy are being accepted. A graduate certificate can be earned after just 4 courses, and the GRE is not required. No work experience is necessary, and convenient online and evening course options are available. The application deadline for Fall 2022 is July 1, 2022.

Applications for the graduate certificate in Public & Urban Informatics at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy are being accepted. Social Work Scholarships and the MSW Priority Deadline—Undergraduate Students
Applications are being accepted for the Master of Social Work (MSW) degree program at the School of Social Work. Merit and need-based scholarships are available, and the program offers flexible online and evening degree options. Apply, view deadlines, and register for a weekly virtual information session here.
