Spring 2023 Add/Drop Dates—Undergraduate Students
March 20: Last day to withdraw from a course with a “W” grade.
May 3: Last day to withdraw from the University for Spring 2023.

Financial

Scarlet$ense Financial Literacy Workshop: Budgeting, Saving, and Investing—All Students
The Office of Financial Aid will hold a Scarlet$ense financial literacy workshop on Thursday, February 23, at 2 p.m. at the Dr. Samuel DeWitt Proctor Hall on the Busch Campus. The workshop will focus on the topics of budgeting, saving, and investing. Learn more and register here.

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students
Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline should follow these guidelines: 

• Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before April 30, 2023, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines by April 30, 2023. A Rutgers ID number must be included for identification. 
   
• Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement. 

Taxable Tuition Remission—Students Who are Staff or Faculty
Please be aware that the full value of staff/faculty graduate tuition remission is subject to federal and New Jersey state tax withholding. In addition, under federal regulations, any graduate tuition remission benefit over $5,250 per calendar year is also considered taxable. Please refer to the 2023 Tax Withholding Schedule for Spring 2023 withholding dates.

1098-T Forms—All Students
1098-T tax forms are available to view and print electronically. View instructions on accessing 1098-T forms here.

TA/GA/Fellows Payroll Deduction—Graduate Students
TAs, GAs, and Graduate Fellows may enroll in payroll deduction to make payments for charges not covered by tuition remission, such as housing, dining, or student fees. Please complete the online form to enroll in payroll deduction and view the Spring 2023 payroll deduction schedule here. The deadline to enroll in the 7-payment plan for Spring 2023 payroll deduction is noon on February 23, 2023.

Set Up Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Direct deposit is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds issued by Rutgers. All students are required to enroll in direct deposit. Please note that direct deposit is currently not available for summer or winter refunds. View instructions for setting up direct deposit here.

Summer and Advanced Standing/Third Term 2023 Payment Plans—All Students
Enrollment in the 4-payment plan for Summer 2023 and Advanced Standing/Third Term students will open on March 5, 2023. Learn more about payment plans here.

Cash Payments—All Students
Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, it is strongly encouraged that students use electronic payment methods instead of cash payments for paying term bills. Please review payment options and the Cash Handling Policy for more information.

GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
Rutgers University has partnered with GradGuard to make the Tuition Protection Insurance Plan available to students and families. The plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events that force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered medical reason, including mental health conditions and illness from epidemic and pandemic diseases. myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Regalia On Sale for Rutgers University 257^th Anniversary Commencement—Graduating Students
The 2023 Rutgers–New Brunswick and RBHS Commencement ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at SHI Stadium. Regalia is now on sale online through Barnes & Noble at Rutgers. Information regarding regalia sales, parking registration, shout out filming, day-of information, and more is available on the website. More information will be sent to students' ScarletMail accounts, and family and friends are also able to sign up for email updates regarding Commencement. Music Tutoring—All Students
The Learning Centers are now offering music tutoring for music courses. Tutors are available for the following courses: Aural Skills (I – IV), Classroom Piano (I – IV), Fundamentals of Music, Music History (I – II), and Music Theory (I – IV). All sessions will be held at Robert E. Mortenson Hall on the Douglass Campus. Students can register by visiting the LC Mason Gross Community on Penji. Applications for the Leadership Scholars Certificate Program—Undergraduate Students
The Institute for Women's Leadership is accepting applications for the Leadership Scholars Certificate Program. This two-year and 19-credit certificate program explores women’s leadership for social change, with benefits such as a career-building internship, funding for self-designed social action projects, and building community with other young women leaders. Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship in Public Service—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy has established the Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship Program in Public Service to honor Mr. Voorhees' commitment to community service. Each year, the school selects undergraduates from any major at Rutgers–New Brunswick who are dedicated to civic engagement. Fellows receive $5,000 and participate in a credit-bearing partnership with community organizations. The application deadline is Friday, March 17, 2023. Learn more and apply here.

Applications for the 2024 Graduate Fellowship Program in Government and Politics—Graduate Students
Graduate students may apply for the 2024 Graduate Fellowship Program in Government and Politics offered by the Eagleton Institute of Politics. Fellows gain experience and knowledge of how American politics, government, policy, and advocacy impacts their fields of study and are a part of an interdisciplinary cohort from across Rutgers. This program is open to all Rutgers graduate students from all campuses, and full and part-time students are eligible. Stipends and tuition remission are available. Applications for the Master’s Program in Political Science–Concentration in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies & Virtual Information Sessions—Undergraduate Students
The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time period. The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policyis hosting virtual information sessions for their master’s & graduate certificate programs in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Health Administration, and Public Informatics. Applications are still being accepted for Fall 2023, and the GRE is waived.
