Waive/Enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) for Fall 2023—All Students
Rutgers University requires full-time and all F&J Rutgers visa-sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each semester before the deadline. The health insurance premium is automatically added to the term bill each semester. The SHIP is optional for part-time students and the premium is not added to the term bill. The deadline to waive or enroll is September 22, 2023.
- WAIVING? Students who have comparable health insurance may complete the waiver to get the premium removed from their term bills. Students who have failed to waive before the deadline will have enrollment in the SHIP processed and will then be responsible for paying the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance.
- ENROLLING? Students who do not have health insurance should complete the enrollment form. Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. Students should complete the enrollment form each semester to finalize the process.
For contact information, deadline dates, insurance premiums, waiver requirements, and waiver/enrollment processes, please visit www.universityhealthplans.com. Waiver/Enrollment inquiries must include the Rutgers ID number/School ID number for identification.

Please refer to the 2023 Tax Withholding Schedule for Fall 2023 withholding dates.
