Important Information Regarding COVID-19
The Universitywide COVID-19 Information Page is your official source of information about the university’s response to COVID-19. You are encouraged to check this site frequently.
Important Information Regarding Pass/No Credit Policy—Undergraduate Students
The deadline for choosing the Pass/No Credit (P/NC) is not until Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Students should complete all semester requirements and receive their final grades before choosing the P/NC policy option. This option can impact prerequisites, spring courses and schedules, financial aid, time to degree, and post-graduate plans. Students should check out the facts and FAQs before making this important decision.
Personal Meeting Room Reservations Available at Rutgers Student Centers—All Students
Student Centers and Activities has personal meeting room reservations for academic engagement available for students looking for a quiet place to study, or for online classes, academic sessions, or exams and meetings with professors. Room reservations are limited to one per day for three hours, with a maximum of two people. The College Avenue Student Center's multi-purpose room is also now open as an additional study space on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can reserve space at the Busch, College Avenue or Livingston Student Centers here.
View and Pay Spring Semester Term Bills—All Students
Spring 2021 semester term bills are now available to view and make payment. Term bills not paid by the due date will be assessed a late payment fee of $125.00. Payments are accepted in the form of e-check or credit card and can be made via the online term bill. Please note: Appointments for cash only payments are limited and available only to students who need to pay with cash. Students can book an appointment here.
Set Up Electronic Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to set up direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited electronically. Learn more about electronic deposit here.
Financial Holds—All Students
Financial holds will be placed on accounts with unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for spring semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.
2021–2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Is Now Available
The 2021–2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available. Continuing students should file before the January 15 priority deadline. Learn how to apply for financial aid here.
Register for Winter Term—All Students
Registration for the Winter 2021 term is ongoing. Earn credits towards a degree during winter break and choose from more than 150 courses in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about Winter Session here.
Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2021 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online. The deadline is January 15, 2021. Please contact the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office via this contact form with any questions. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.
COVID-19 Testing Information—All Students
All students living in campus housing, living off-campus in the New Brunswick/Piscataway area, and students in groups required to receive testing can access testing through Rutgers Student Health. Details about testing can be found here.
- Off-campus students must register their local address here. Local addresses are needed in order for public health officials to properly track and respond to the pandemic.
- There is no cost for testing through Rutgers Student Health.
- Students who experience symptoms, had contact with someone who tested positive, are worried, or are unsure about getting tested, should call Rutgers Student Health at 848-932-7402. Student Health will schedule a same-day appointment time to speak with a clinician, answer questions, and provide a test that day.
Applications for the 5th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Competition—All Students
The Paul Robeson Cultural Center invites students to the 5th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Competition. The competition honors the oratorical legacy of Dr. King by inviting student speakers to expand on a selected Dr. King quote to share their social justice vision of the future. Student speakers should apply by January 12, 2021, for a chance to win one of three prizes. Learn more about the competition here.
Rutgers Global Health Institute Case Competition—All Students
The Rutgers Global Health Institute is hosting its first-ever Impact Case Competition and invites students of all disciplines to apply to be a part of this new event. Students will be able to find ways to apply their field of study and have the opportunity to expand their knowledge, skills, and networks. Learn more about the competition here.
Earn Credit Towards a Degree with the Rutgers Internship and Co-op Program—All Students
The Rutgers Internship and Co-op Program (RICP) is an online pass/fail course for academic credit during the spring semester while working at an internship. By enrolling in the course, students will have an instructor to offer expert advice and help navigate the work environment. Participants will also increase marketability to future employers by developing skills in career management, professionalism and work ethic, digital technology, and oral and written communications. Byrne First-Year Seminars—Undergraduate Students
Byrne Seminars are small, one-credit courses taught by Rutgers’ world-renowned faculty who come from departments and professional schools across the university. Limited to just 20 students per section, each unique seminar introduces students to the professor’s area of expertise and their latest research. Over 55 seminars are available for the spring semester. This program is open to all first-year students. Please view complete listings here.
Applications for Teaching Certificates at the Graduate School of Education—Undergraduate Students
The Graduate School of Education (GSE) is accepting applications for their teaching certificate programs. Juniors can earn an Ed.M. and a teaching license with one additional year of study; Seniors need just two years. The GSE is New Jersey's top-ranked education school and its faculty and courses are rated among the best at Rutgers. The School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) is accepting applications for the Master of Human Resource Management Program for 2021. This top-tier ranked program is open to all undergraduate majors. Learn more about the program here.
Applications for the SMLR Human Resource Management Undergraduate Major and Minor—Undergraduate Students
The Human Resource Management Department (HRM) at the School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) is currently accepting students for the undergraduate major and minor. Students learn about HRM topics related to Talent Acquisition, Developing Talent, Diversity & Inclusion, and Compensation & Total Rewards. The School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) invites undergraduates of all majors to apply for the Master of Labor and Employment Relations (MLER) program. The GRE is waived.
