Is ($1,709) still on your term bill for the Student Health Insurance Plan? Waiver appeal deadline is April 30, 2025—Full time and F&J Rutgers visa sponsored students only.
You are responsible for the payment of $1,709 on your term bill and are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) for spring 2025. Enrollment notifications are sent via email from UnitedHealthcare Student Resources.
- Failed to Waive? You are being enrolled in the SHIP and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even though you have other insurance. You can complete a waiver appeal at www.universityhealthplans.com before April 30, 2025. F&J Rutgers Visa Sponsored Students must contact Rutgers Global for information about the waiver appeal. The premium should be removed from your term bill after 4 business days. If you utilize the SHIP, the policy cannot be removed even if you have other health insurance coverage.
- Failed to Enroll? You are now being enrolled in the SHIP, which will cause a delay in accessing your insurance card. Visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access your insurance card in 3 weeks. Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling, you must complete the enrollment form before the deadline to finalize the process. Be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester; avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care including medication and then seeking reimbursement.
Mandatory action is required each semester before the deadline date. Rutgers requires full time, and all F&J Rutgers visa sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each semester before the deadline. For details, visit www.universityhealthplans.com.
