Fall 2023 Pre-Registration—Undergraduate Students
Pre-Registration for Fall 2023 begins on Monday, April 17, at 9 a.m. for New Brunswick undergraduate students with 90+ credits and continues through Tuesday, April 25. Registration is by degree credits already earned. For assistance, please contact the One Stop Student Services Center. Learn more about pre-registration dates here.

Registration for Summer Session—All Students
Registration for Summer Session 2023 is in progress. Students may choose from 1,800 course selections in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about Summer Session here.

Spring 2023 Withdrawal Date—Undergraduate Students
The last day to withdraw from the University for Spring 2023 is May 3, 2023. Normal Webreg hours are 6:30 a.m.—midnight, Monday through Friday, and 6:30 a.m.—2 p.m. on Saturdays. Learn more and view the Spring 2023 Undergraduate Calendar here. Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing May 2023 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or by hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The application deadline is May 15, 2023. Submit diploma application questions to the One Stop Student Services Center. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Financial

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline should follow these guidelines: 

  • Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before April 30, 2023, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines by April 30, 2023. A Rutgers ID number must be included for identification. 
     
  • Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement. 

Taxable Tuition Remission—Students Who are Staff or Faculty
Please be aware that the full value of staff/faculty graduate tuition remission is subject to federal and New Jersey state tax withholding. In addition, under federal regulations, any graduate tuition remission benefit over $5,250 per calendar year is also considered taxable. Please refer to the 2023 Tax Withholding Schedule for Spring 2023 withholding dates.

1098-T Forms—All Students
1098-T tax forms are available to view and print electronically. View instructions on accessing 1098-T forms here.

View and Pay Spring 2023 Term Bills—All Students
Spring 2023 semester term bills are available to view and pay online here.

Financial Holds—All Students
Financial holds have been placed on accounts that have unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for Fall 2023 semester classes. Students who are enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current and satisfy the remaining balance. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.

Set Up Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Direct deposit is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds issued by Rutgers. All students are required to enroll in direct deposit. Please note that direct deposit is currently not available for summer or winter refunds. View instructions for setting up direct deposit here.

Summer and Advanced Standing/Third Term 2023 Payment Plans—All Students Enrollment in the 4-payment plan for Summer 2023 and Advanced Standing/Third Term students is open through April 5, 2023. 3-payment and 2-payment plans will open at later dates. View the enrollment dates and learn more about payment plans here

Cash Payments—All Students
Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, it is strongly encouraged that students use electronic payment methods instead of cash payments for paying term bills. Please review payment options and the Cash Handling Policy for more information.

GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
Rutgers University has partnered with GradGuard to make the Tuition Protection Insurance Plan available to students and families. The plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events that force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered medical reason, including mental health conditions and illness from epidemic and pandemic diseases. myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Health

Changes to COVID-19 Policy—All Students
Effective May 16, 2023, all students who have not been granted a medical or religious exemption by the university continue to be required to have completed a primary series of vaccinations and to upload proof of vaccination to the vaccine portals. Booster doses will no longer be required unless an individual falls within the definition of a “Covered Individual” set forth in University Policy 100.3.1.

COVID-19 Testing for Non-vaccinated Students—All Students
Effective May 16, 2023, students with medical or religious exemptions from the university’s COVID-19 vaccination requirements will no longer be required to regularly test unless they fall within the definition of “Covered Individual” set forth in University Policy 100.3.1. Consistent with Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders 283, 290, and 294, only those individuals who have been granted medical or religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccination requirements and who fall within the definition of “Covered Individual” set forth in University Policy 100.3.1 must continue to test once per week using self-administered rapid tests and upload their results to the vaccine portal while such executive orders remain in effect.

General

Nominations are Open for the Chancellor-Provost’s Student Leadership Awards—All Students
Rutgers–New Brunswick students who have made remarkable contributions to the university and community may be nominated for the Chancellor-Provost’s Student Leadership Awards. Nominated students should demonstrate collaboration, leadership and resourcefulness, have a tremendous passion for Rutgers, and go outside of their normal responsibilities to achieve their goals. Rutgers University 257th Anniversary Commencement—Graduating Students
The 2023 Rutgers–New Brunswick and RBHS Commencement ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at SHI Stadium. Regalia is now on sale online through Barnes & Noble at RutgersParking registration for Commencement opened on March 20. Graduating students must register to receive two free parking hangtags for themselves and their families or guests in order to park on campus on May 14. Commencement Special Needs Parking Registration is available for guests who are not able to walk more than 1/2 mile. Information regarding regalia sales, parking registration, shout out filming, day-of information, and more is available on the website. More information will be sent to students' ScarletMail accounts, and family and friends are also able to sign up for email updates regarding Commencement. Academics

Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship in Public Service (Application Deadline Extended)—Undergraduate Students The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy has established the Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship Program in Public Service to honor Mr. Voorhees' commitment to community service. Each year, the school selects undergraduates from any major at Rutgers–New Brunswick who are dedicated to civic engagement. Fellows receive $5,000 and participate in a credit-bearing partnership with community organizations. The application deadline has been extended to Friday, March 31, 2023. Learn more and apply here.

Free LSAT In-Person Practice Exam & Food Drive—All Students
Students preparing for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) are invited to participate in a free practice exam and strategy session to maximize performance on Saturday, April 1, 2023. This session is sponsored by Rutgers Test Prep and the Rutgers Student Food Pantry. Space is limited and registration is required. Learn more and register here.

Applications for the Darien Civic Engagement Project—Undergraduate Students
The Center for Youth Political Participation at the Eagleton Institute of Politics is accepting applications for the fall cohort of the Darien Civic Engagement Project. This is a for-credit, on campus program for students interested in supporting RU Voting's nonpartisan voter registration and mobilization efforts. Enrolled students will support voter registration events on the Rutgers–New Brunswick campus in the lead up to the 2023 New Jersey Legislative Elections on November 7, 2023. This program is open to all class years, majors, and schools. The application deadline is by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023. Learn more and apply here.

2023–2024 Bloustein Honors Research Program Information Session—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is hosting an information session for the Bloustein Honors Research Program. The program offers a select group of students majoring in undergraduate programs at Bloustein an opportunity to conduct in-depth research that aligns with the applied research conducted from Bloustein School faculty in their senior year. Application Deadline Extended for Graduate School of Education's Five-Year and Post-Baccalaureate Programs—Undergraduate Students
Application deadlines for the Graduate School of Education's five-year and post-baccalaureate initial licensure teacher preparation programs has been extended. Applications are also being accepted from students who have not yet taken the praxis core (where applicable). Please email ken.tufo@gse.rutgers.edu with any questions. 

Because of Teachers: Rutgers Graduate School of Education Open House—Undergraduate Students
The Graduate School of Education (GSE) is hosting an open house on Monday, April 17, from 3 to 6 p.m. on the Voorhees Mall lawn on the College Avenue Campus. Students who are interested in a teaching profession can learn more about the GSE's programs, chat with faculty, eat free food, and pick up free swag. The five-year programs at the GSE allow students to earn a master's degree and teaching certification at the same time. Applications for the Master’s Program in Political Science–Concentration in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies & Virtual Information Sessions—Undergraduate Students
The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time period. Register for Bloustein School's Master's in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Public Informatics, and Health Administration Virtual Information Sessions
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is hosting virtual information sessions for their master’s & graduate certificate programs in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Health Administration, and Public Informatics. Applications are still being accepted for Fall 2023, and the GRE is waived. Success.rutgers.edu is dedicated to helping students find all of the services and resources to succeed and is organized around four themes: Success Essentials, Academic Support Services, Involvement & Community, and Experiential Learning & Career Preparation. The site is easily searchable and includes important "How To" instructional videos and guides for topics such as Course Scheduling, Add/Drop, Canvas, Teams, the Handshake Career Management platform, and more.
