Fall Health and Well-Being Protocols
The Universitywide COVID-19 Information Page is your official source of information about the university’s response to COVID-19. This page has resources for students and parents along with announcements pertaining to COVID-19, FAQs, and the operating statuses of services, facilities, and offices at Rutgers. You are encouraged to check this site frequently.

Registration for Winter Term—All Students
Registration for the Winter 2023 term has begun. Earn credits towards a degree during winter break and choose from 150 courses in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about winter session here.

Fall 2022 Add/Drop Dates—Undergraduate Students
October 31: Last day to withdraw from a course with a “W” grade
December 15: Last day to withdraw from the University for Fall 2022

6:30 a.m.—midnight, Monday through Friday
6:30 a.m.—2 p.m. on Saturdays

Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2023 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The deadline is January 15, 2023. Any questions concerning a diploma application can be submitted to the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office via this webform. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Financial

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline for the Fall 2022 semester should follow these guidelines:

  • Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by November 30, 2022.
  • Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.

Information for Federal Government's Student Debt Relief Plan—All Students
The federal government has announced a plan to cancel up to $10,000 in federal student debt for Americans earning less than $125,000 per year ($250,000 for couples), and up to $20,000 for borrowers who received Pell Grants while they were in college. Students or borrowers with questions are encouraged to check the Federal Student Aid's website and to sign up for email updates from the U.S. Department of Education for more information. The White House's Fact Sheet containing data related to the debt relief and extension of the loan repayment pause can be viewed here.

Taxable Tuition Remission—Students Who are Staff or Faculty
Please refer to the 2022 Tax Withholding Schedule for Fall 2022 withholding dates.

Set Up Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Direct deposit is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds issued by Rutgers. All students are required to enroll in direct deposit. Please note that direct deposit is currently not available for summer. View instructions for setting up direct deposit here.

Cash Payments—All Students
Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, we strongly encourage using electronic payment methods instead of cash payments. Please review payment options and the Cash Handling Policy for more information.

GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
GradGuard Tuition Insurance Plans purchased on or after February 18, 2022, now include the Epidemic Coverage Endorsement, which can provide coverage for when an insured student completely withdraws from school for the covered term due to becoming ill with any epidemic or pandemic disease, including COVID-19 and Monkeypox. myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

Scarlet $ense Financial Literacy Program—All Students
Rutgers University–New Brunswick introduces a new campus-wide comprehensive program on financial literacy that includes—but is not limited to—student loan borrowing and repayments, budgeting, savings, investing, and debt. In addition, students have access to a free financial literacy website, workshops, freshman and transfer seminars, and webinars on financial literacy topics.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Get Ready for Flu Season with Flu Vaccination Clinics—All Students
Fall 2022 Flu Vaccination Clinics will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

Students should bring their Rutgers student ID and insurance cards to the clinics. In order to save time, consent forms can be completed in advance. Learn more about flu vaccinations and download the consent forms here.

General

Take the DOTS Bus Survey—All Students
The Department of Transportation Services (DOTS) invites students to take the Rutgers University–New Brunswick Campus Bus System Survey. Student participation will assist in informing future enhancements to the system and improve the student experience. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and will be open until Wednesday, October 14. Participants who complete the survey may enter into a drawing to win one of seven $100 gift cards to kite + key, Rutgers Tech Store. Please submit any questions via DOTSHelp.rutgers.edu.

Make a plan to vote in the 2022 Midterm Election—All Students
There is an election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Students who want to cast their vote in elections happening this fall must be registered to vote. On-campus undergraduate and graduate students can register at their on-campus residence hall or off-campus address. Out-of-state students are also eligible to register in New Jersey. All New Jersey voter registration changes must be completed by Tuesday, October 18. Out-of-state voters should be sure to check their state's election deadlines and requirements. Academics

Peer Coaching with the Learning Centers—All Students
The Learning Centers offer peer coaching which helps students learn new study strategies, develop time management, and participate in facilitated small groups that are capped at 6 students per session. Peer coaching sessions provide individualized attention to help students become more effective learners. Sign into Penji and join the community titled "LC Academic Coaching." Then, click on "Join a peer coaching group session" and select "Peer coaching with ___". One-on-one peer coaching is also available.

RSVP for Bloustein School's Master's in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Public Informatics, and Health Administration Virtual Information Sessions—All Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is hosting virtual information sessions for their master and graduate certificate programs in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Public Informatics, and Health Administration. The GRE is waived for 2023 and scholarships are available for Fall 2023. No work experience is necessary. Students must RSVP to attend an information session. Applications for the Master’s Program in Political Science–Concentration in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies and Virtual Inforamation Sessions—Undergraduate Students The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time. Applications for the Mary Ann and Steven J. Allard Fellowship Program in Public Health—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and the Allard Family have established a fellowship for outstanding, declared, and non-traditional public health students who have demonstrated a personal commitment or outstanding academic potential in their public health studies. For 2022–2023, two eligible undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA will be selected as fellows to receive $2,000 each. The deadline to apply is Friday, October 14, 2022. Applications for the Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Program—Undergraduate Students (Juniors)
The Eagleton Institute of Politics is accepting applications for the Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Program. The program is a 3-semester interdisciplinary certificate for Juniors from all Rutgers schools and campus locations. Associates learn about political power and decision-making while honing their leadership and professional skills through a series of three unique courses (one per semester) and summer/fall internships in politics, government, policy, or advocacy. Success.rutgers.edu is dedicated to helping students find all of the services and resources to succeed and is organized around four themes: Success Essentials, Academic Support Services, Involvement & Community, and Experiential Learning & Career Preparation. The site is easily searchable and includes important "How To" instructional videos and guides for topics such as Course Scheduling, Add/Drop, Canvas, Teams, the Handshake Career Management platform, and more.

Jobs, Internships and Leadership Positions

Students should regularly check out the employment listings available on Rutgers Handshake, your primary career management portal brought to you by the Office of Career Exploration and Success. On-campus part-time jobs are also regularly posted to the platform by campus departments.
