Fall Health and Well-Being Protocols

Get Ready for Flu Season with Flu Vaccination Clinics—All Students
Fall 2022 Flu Vaccination Clinics will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates and locations:
- Tuesday, October 25: Livingston Coffee House at the Livingston Student Center
- Tuesday, November 8: Trayes Hall at the Douglass Student Center
- Thursday, November 17: Multipurpose Room of the Busch Student Center
- Wednesday November 30: The Yard at Sojourner Truth Apartments, College Avenue Campus

Registration for Winter Term—All Students
Registration for the Winter 2023 term has begun. Earn credits towards a degree during winter break and choose from 150 courses in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about winter session here.
Fall 2022 Add/Drop Dates—Undergraduate Students
October 31: Last day to withdraw from a course with a “W” grade
December 15: Last day to withdraw from the University for Fall 2022

Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2023 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The deadline is January 15, 2023. Any questions concerning a diploma application can be submitted to the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office via this webform. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Scarlet $ense Financial Literacy Program Workshop—All StudentsOffice of Financial Aid is offering their first in-person Scarlet $ense Financial Literacy workshop for the Fall term on Wednesday, October 26, from 2 to 3 p.m. in room 107A of Dr. Samuel DeWitt Proctor Hall on the Busch Campus. TheStudent Health Insurance Information—All Students
Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline for the Fall 2022 semester should follow these guidelines:- Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by November 30, 2022.
- Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.
Information for Federal Government's Student Debt Relief Plan—All Students
The federal government has announced a plan to cancel up to $10,000 in federal student debt for Americans earning less than $125,000 per year ($250,000 for couples), and up to $20,000 for borrowers who received Pell Grants while they were in college. Learn more about the debt relief program here.

Set Up Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Direct deposit is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds issued by Rutgers. All students are required to enroll in direct deposit. Please note that direct deposit is currently not available for summer. View instructions for setting up direct deposit here.
Cash Payments—All Students
Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, we strongly encourage using electronic payment methods instead of cash payments. Please review payment options and the Cash Handling Policy for more information.
GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
GradGuard Tuition Insurance Plans purchased on or after February 18, 2022, now include the Epidemic Coverage Endorsement, which can provide coverage for when an insured student completely withdraws from school for the covered term due to becoming ill with any epidemic or pandemic disease, including COVID-19 and Monkeypox. myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
General
Take the DOTS Bus Survey—All Students
The Department of Transportation Services (DOTS) invites students to take the Rutgers University–New Brunswick Campus Bus System Survey. Student participation will assist in informing future enhancements to the system and improve the student experience. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and will be open until Thursday, October 20. Participants who complete the survey may enter into a drawing to win one of seven $100 gift cards to kite + key, Rutgers Tech Store. Please submit any questions via DOTSHelp.rutgers.edu.
Make a plan to vote in the 2022 Midterm Election—All Students
There is an election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Students who want to cast their vote in elections happening this fall must be registered to vote. On-campus undergraduate and graduate students can register at their on-campus residence hall or off-campus address. Out-of-state students are also eligible to register in New Jersey. All New Jersey voter registration changes must be completed by Tuesday, October 18. Out-of-state voters should be sure to check their state's election deadlines and requirements. GRE Prep Workshops—Undergraduate Students
The Learning Centers offer GRE Prep Workshops for students who are getting ready for graduate school and need to take the GRE exams. These workshops are free and open to all Rutgers students. Workshops will provide students with strategies and hands-on activities to better help prepare for the exam. Learn more and register for workshops here.
Take the Diversity Peer Educator Course—Undergraduate Students
Students are invited to register for this spring’s Diversity Peer Educator Course, a 7-week, 1.5 credit course coordinated through the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities and the Department of Residence Life. The course prepares students to navigate challenging and engaging discourse while enhancing leadership skills. The deadline to sign up is Thursday, December 1, 2022. Applications for the Mary Ann and Steven J. Allard Fellowship Program in Public Health (Deadline Extended)—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and the Allard Family have established a fellowship for outstanding, declared, and non-traditional public health students who have demonstrated a personal commitment or outstanding academic potential in their public health studies. For 2022–2023, two eligible undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA will be selected as fellows to receive $2,000 each. Register for Bloustein School's Virtual Information Sessions for their Master’s Programs in Public Affairs & Politics, Public Informatics, and Health Administration—All Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is hosting virtual information sessions for their master’s programs in Public Informatics, Health Administration, and Public Affairs & Politics. The GRE is waived for Fall 2023 applications and scholarships are available. The deadline to apply is July 1, 2023. No work experience is necessary. Applications for the Master’s Program in Political Science–Concentration in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies and Virtual Inforamation Sessions—Undergraduate StudentsDepartment of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time. TheApplications for the Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Program—Undergraduate Students (Juniors)
The Eagleton Institute of Politics is accepting applications for the Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Program. The program is a 3-semester interdisciplinary certificate for Juniors from all Rutgers schools and campus locations. Associates learn about political power and decision-making while honing their leadership and professional skills through a series of three unique courses (one per semester) and summer/fall internships in politics, government, policy, or advocacy. The site is easily searchable and includes important "How To" instructional videos and guides for topics such as Course Scheduling, Add/Drop, Canvas, Teams, the Handshake Career Management platform, and more.

Students should regularly check out the employment listings available on Rutgers Handshake, your primary career management portal brought to you by the Office of Career Exploration and Success. On-campus part-time jobs are also regularly posted to the platform by campus departments.
Career Exploration Night—Undergraduate Students
One of the best ways to explore careers is by networking with those already working in the field. At this virtual event held on October 19 at 6:30 p.m., over 20+ Rutgers alumni will share success stories, advice, and a day in the life of individuals on the cutting edge of their profession. The Office of Career Exploration and Success invites students to the Rutgers Virtual Jobs Showcase. Did You Know
Did you know that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month? The Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance (VPVA) maintains free trauma-informed counseling and advocacy services, a hotline number for those impacted by violence, and a support system of survivors. VPVA is located on 3 Bartlett Street in New Brunswick where it is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday–Friday. Crisis intervention and advocacy are available 24/7 on their hotline at 848-932-1181 (press 0 after hours to connect with an advocate).
