Important Information Regarding COVID-19
The Universitywide COVID-19 Information Page is your official source of information about the university’s response to COVID-19. This page has resources for students and parents along with announcements pertaining to COVID-19, FAQs, and the operating statuses of services, facilities, and offices at Rutgers. You are encouraged to check this site frequently.
View and Pay Spring Semester Term Bills—All Students
Spring 2021 semester term bills are now available to view and make payment. Term bills not paid by the due date will be assessed a late payment fee of $125.00. Payments are accepted in the form of e-check or credit card and can be made via the online term bill. Please note: Appointments for cash only payments are limited and available only to students who need to pay with cash. Students can book an appointment here.
Rutgers Tuition Payment Plans—All Students
Students can also choose to enroll in a payment plan for assistance with paying their term bill balances at paymentplans.rutgers.edu. Additional Spring 2021 payment plans have been created for students who missed the January 4th deadline and are available now.
Sign Up for Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to sign up for direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited. Learn more about direct deposit here.
1098Ts—All Students
Starting at the end of January, students should have received an email notification with instructions for viewing and printing the 2020 1098T tax forms for Educational Tax Credits. Students with scholarships and grant aid greater than their qualified tuition and fee charges are not eligible to claim a tax deduction and will not see a 1098T form. Dining Plan Change and Cancellation Requests—All Students
Dining plan change and cancellation requests for the Spring 2021 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, February 2, 2021. This is the only time during the semester reductions and cancellations will be allowed.
RU Express Cancellation and Reduction Requests—All Students
RU Express initial deposit cancellation and reduction requests for the Spring 2021 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, February 2, 2021. This is the only time during the semester cancellations or reductions will be allowed and only if the money for the Spring 2021 semester has not been used.
2021 Summer Session Schedule Now Available—All Students
The schedule of classes for the Summer 2021 term is now available. Choose from more than 2,500 courses in a wide range of subjects. Make progress toward graduation, improve a GPA, or fulfill a prerequisite this summer. Start planning schedules now and register beginning Monday, February 15. Learn more about Summer Session here.
Pass/No Credit Option for Spring 2021—Undergraduate Students
The Pass/No Credit option remains available to undergraduate students for courses taken during the Spring 2021 semester. Students should evaluate this option carefully and in consultation with academic advisors at their school to understand the full ramifications of such a decision for their particular academic major, career path, and financial aid standing. COVID-19 Testing Information & Contact Tracing—All Students
All students living in campus housing, living off-campus in the New Brunswick/Piscataway area, and students in groups required to receive testing can access testing through Rutgers Student Health. Details about testing can be found here.
- Off-campus students must register their local address here. Local addresses are needed in order for public health officials to properly track and respond to the pandemic.
- There is no cost for testing through Rutgers Student Health.
- Students who experience symptoms, had contact with someone who tested positive, are worried, or are unsure about getting tested, should call Rutgers Student Health at 848-932-7402. Student Health will schedule a same-day appointment time to speak with a clinician, answer questions, and provide a test that day.
- Students who are contacted by a Contact Tracer are highly encouraged to speak with them. Contact Tracers provide valuable information and resources to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Black Mentoring Circle—All Students
The Paul Robeson Cultural Center invites the Rutgers community to join in this month’s Black Mentoring Circle. With a new topic each month, the Circle provides a virtual space where students can participate in guided educational discourse relevant to the Black student experience. This month's discussion centers on Black Entrepreneurship and Economical Power on February 8 at 6 p.m. Learn more and access upcoming sessions here.
Residence Life Global Roommmate Program Mentor Recruitment—Undergraduate Students
The Residence Life Global Roommate Program is recruiting students who are interested in supporting new undergraduate international students in their transition to Rutgers and the United States. Applicants should be current Rutgers students who have an interest in living with international students for the 2021–2022 academic year. Mentors and mentees are placed together in on-campus apartments. The application deadline is February 5, 2021. Learn more about the program and view dates for information sessions here.
Apply for the Rutgers Commuter Student Association E-Board—Undergraduate Students
The Rutgers Commuter Student Association (RCSA) is an inclusive volunteer student organization whose primary role is to serve commuter students’ needs and interests while building a community on campus. RCSA promotes commuter student integration into the larger Rutgers population through programming and advocacy with other student organizations, committees, and departments. Available chair positions include Public Relations, Events, Initiatives, and Student Assembly. The deadline for applications is by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 21. Learning Centers Now Offering More Courses for Tutoring, New Student Newsletter, and Penji Raffle—All Students
The Learning Centers have added more courses for tutoring that are being offered through the Penji platform on their online services page. The Learning Centers are also giving away multiple electronic Amazon gift cards and students who create a Penji account anytime now through February 9 will automatically be entered into the raffle. To enter the raffle, students need to register for a Penji account here or subscribe to their YouTube channel to get entered twice. Visit the raffle page for more information on how to win. Rutgers Handshake Mobile App—All Students
Students can now activate their free Rutgers Handshake accounts and access thousands of job and internship listings in the system, schedule appointments with career advisers, read employer reviews from other students, network with employers, register for career events, access exclusive online resources, and much more. Students can also download the free mobile app from the App Store or Google Play, and log in with a NETID and password for exclusive access. Learn more about Rutgers Handshake and the app here.
Student Center Hours and Personal Meeting Room Reservations Available—All Students
The Busch, College Avenue, and Livingston student centers are open from Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The student centers will be closed on weekends. Select food vendors are now open in the College Avenue Student Center. Students may also reserve personal meeting rooms at the student centers for academic engagement such as online classes, academic sessions, exams, and meetings with professors and other Rutgers staff. Rutgers Virtual Career Internship Fair Series—All Students
The Rutgers Virtual Career Internship Fair Series is open to all Rutgers University candidates including current students, graduate students, and alumni. Over 100 employers will be available to network with candidates to discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields. Students can visit the fair website or their Rutgers Handshake account to register for 1-on-1 virtual sessions and connect directly with recruiters.
School of Communication and Information Is Accepting Applications for Admission—Undergraduate Students
The School of Communication and Information (SC&I) is now accepting applications for admission to the Communication, Information Technology and Informatics, and Journalism and Media Studies majors.
