Important Information Regarding COVID-19

Spring Break Hall Closing—All Students
Certain residence halls on the Rutgers–New Brunswick campus will close at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 11, for the beginning of Spring Break. Residence halls will re-open on Sunday, March 20, at 10 a.m. Prior to moving out, please consult and complete the closing checklist in its entirety to help ensure that all students may return to a welcoming community after break. Residence Life staff will conduct closing room checks. Students should contact their Residence Life staff with any questions. View a full list of buildings closing for break here.
Registration for Summer Session—All Students

Undergraduate students in their first and second years of study may qualify for the Scarlet Guarantee (SG) commencing Fall 2022. The SG, mirrored after the Garden State Guarantee, reflects Rutgers–New Brunswick's commitment to making a college degree more accessible and affordable by reducing the out-of-pocket costs for students and families. Eligible applicants must be New Jersey residents working toward their first bachelor’s degree and file the 2022–2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2022.Garden State Guarantee—Undergraduate Students

Financial Holds—All Students Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.
Financial holds have been placed on accounts with unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for Fall 2022 semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Students are strongly encouraged to set up direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited electronically.One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Health
Student Health Insurance Information—All Students
Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline should follow these guidelines:
- Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before April 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by April 30, 2022. A Rutgers ID number must be included for identification.
- Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.
General
Rutgers Student Food Pantry and No Hungry Knights Award—All Students
Students who are experiencing food insecurity can access the Rutgers Student Food Pantry at no cost. Only a valid RUID is required. Learn more about the Rutgers Student Food pantry and schedule an appointment here. In addition, students may apply for a No Hungry Knights Award. Created by generous donors, these awards fund full or partial meal plans for eligible students. Learn more and apply for the No Hungry Knights Award here.
Academics
Academic Support Services offered by the Learning Centers—All Students
Students can optimize their learning with the services offered by the Rutgers Learning Centers, open to all. Academic support services allow students to build connections with a community of learners either in-person or online. The Learning Centers offer course-specific drop-in tutoring, Academic coaching, and peer coaching that supports academic skill-building and study-planning through workshops and one-on-one appointments. Writing support is available for any course outside of the Writing Program (the Writing Centers provide support specifically for those courses). Study groups meet weekly to review course material with students and integrate study strategies, and Online Learning Modules are asynchronous learning modules that can be accessed through Canvas. The Learning Centers also help with personal statements for graduate or professional school. Learn more about any of these services here.
Applications for the Eagleton Fellowship Program—Graduate Students
Applications are being accepted for the 2022–2023 Eagleton Fellowship Program in Politics and Government and is open to Rutgers graduate students in all schools on the New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden campuses. Stipends and tuition remission are available. Fellows learn about real-world American politics, government, and public affairs. Students may complete the program while pursuing a degree, and an interdisciplinary cohort and curriculum connects the fellowship experience to a chosen field of study. Funded Research in American Politics—Undergraduate Students
Research proposals are being accepted for the John & Ann Holt Endowed Undergraduate Applied Research Fund in American Politics. Rutgers juniors and seniors from all campuses can receive research support for undergraduate research on an issue of American politics of contemporary significance through a bipartisan lens. To apply, research proposals, unofficial transcripts, writing samples, and letters of recommendation should be submitted to ematto@eagleton.rutgers.edu by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022. Applications Open for the Bloustein School’s Graduate Certificate in Public Policy—All Students
Applications for the graduate certificate in Public Policy at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy are being accepted. A graduate certificate can be earned after just 4 courses, and the GRE is not required. No work experience is necessary, and convenient online and evening course options are available. The application deadline for Fall 2022 is July 1, 2022.

Social Work Scholarships and the MSW Priority Deadline—Undergraduate Students
Applications are being accepted for the Master of Social Work (MSW) degree program at the School of Social Work. Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship in Public Service (Deadline Extended to Friday, March 18, 2022)—Undergraduate Students
The Bloustein School has established the Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship Program in Public Service to honor Mr. Voorhees' commitment to community service. Each year, the school selects undergraduates from any major at Rutgers-NB, who are dedicated to civic engagement. Fellows receive $5,000 & participate in a credit-bearing partnership with community organizations. Did You Know
Did you know that the Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship Academy is hosting two design events with Colgate-Palmolive and the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services (RCAAS)? The design lab opportunity with Colgate-Palmolive is a 3-hour workshop where you will use design thinking methods and guidance from Colgate-Palmolive professionals to discover ways to make oral healthcare more accessible. The design challenge with RCAAS asks how we might envision an inclusive campus climate to support the neurodiversity of Rutgers students, faculty, and staff.
