Fall 2023 Pre-Registration—Undergraduate Students
Pre-Registration for Fall 2023 began on Monday, April 17, at 9 a.m. for New Brunswick undergraduate students with 90+ credits and continues through Tuesday, April 25. Registration for Summer Session—All Students
Registration for Summer Session 2023 is in progress. Students may choose from 1,800 course selections in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about Summer Session here.

Spring 2023 Withdrawal Date—Undergraduate Students
The last day to withdraw from the University for Spring 2023 is May 3, 2023. Normal Webreg hours are 6:30 a.m.—midnight, Monday through Friday, and 6:30 a.m.—2 p.m. on Saturdays. Learn more and view the Spring 2023 Undergraduate Calendar here. Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing May 2023 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or by hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The application deadline is May 15, 2023. Submit diploma application questions to the One Stop Student Services Center. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Financial

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students
Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline should follow these guidelines: 

• Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before April 30, 2023, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines by April 30, 2023. A Rutgers ID number must be included for identification. 
   
• Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement. 

Taxable Tuition Remission—Students Who are Staff or Faculty
Please be aware that the full value of staff/faculty graduate tuition remission is subject to federal and New Jersey state tax withholding. In addition, under federal regulations, any graduate tuition remission benefit over $5,250 per calendar year is also considered taxable. Please refer to the 2023 Tax Withholding Schedule for Spring 2023 withholding dates.

Summer Session I Term Bills—All Students
Summer Session I term bills are due on May 12, 2023, for all campuses. Students can view and pay their term bills online here.

Financial Holds—All Students
Financial holds have been placed on accounts that have unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for Fall 2023 semester classes. Students who are enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current and satisfy the remaining balance. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Set Up Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Direct deposit is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds issued by Rutgers. All students are required to enroll in direct deposit. Please note that direct deposit is currently not available for summer or winter refunds. View instructions for setting up direct deposit here.

Summer and Advanced Standing/Third Term 2023 Payment Plans—All Students
Enrollment in the 3-payment plan for Summer 2023 and Advanced Standing/Third Term students is open through May 5, 2023. Enrollment in the 2-payment plan will open on May 6, 2023. View the enrollment dates and learn more about payment plans here. 

Cash Payments—All Students
Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, it is strongly encouraged that students use electronic payment methods instead of cash payments for paying term bills. Please review payment options and the Cash Handling Policy for more information.

GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
Rutgers University has partnered with GradGuard to make the Tuition Protection Insurance Plan available to students and families. The plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events that force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered medical reason, including mental health conditions and illness from epidemic and pandemic diseases. myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Health

Changes to COVID-19 Policy—All Students
Effective May 16, 2023, all students who have not been granted a medical or religious exemption by the university continue to be required to have completed a primary series of vaccinations and to upload proof of vaccination to the vaccine portals. Booster doses will no longer be required unless an individual falls within the definition of a “Covered Individual” set forth in University Policy 100.3.1.

COVID-19 Testing for Non-vaccinated Students—All Students
Effective May 16, 2023, students with medical or religious exemptions from the university’s COVID-19 vaccination requirements will no longer be required to regularly test unless they fall within the definition of “Covered Individual” set forth in University Policy 100.3.1. Consistent with Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders 283, 290, and 294, only those individuals who have been granted medical or religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccination requirements and who fall within the definition of “Covered Individual” set forth in University Policy 100.3.1 must continue to test once per week using self-administered rapid tests and upload their results to the vaccine portal while such executive orders remain in effect.

General

Registration for the 31st Annual Rites of Passage Ceremony—Graduating Black and Latine Students
Rites of Passage is a pre-commencement celebration to honor Black and Latine-identified students who, through resolute persistence, have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree at Rutgers–New Brunswick. Graduating Black and Latine students are encouraged to register for Rites of Passage, which will be held on May 10 at Jersey Mike's Arena on the Livingston Campus. Learn more and register here.

Project Move Out Registration—All Students
Rutgers University and the City of New Brunswick are partnering in Project Move Out to recover discarded furniture, appliances, and textiles in order to keep these items out of landfills and reduce the carbon footprint. Project Move Out provides for free curbside pick-up of bulk items only for Rutgers students who pre-register between April 19–May 22 (noon). The collection will take place between May 24–26.  Registrants will be assigned a day based upon their address. Learn more and register here.

Rutgers University 257^th Anniversary Commencement—Graduating Students
The 2023 Rutgers–New Brunswick and RBHS Commencement ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at SHI Stadium. Graduating students may record a Shout Out on Hot Dog Day (April 26, 2 to 5 p.m., Graduate Student Lounge of the College Avenue Student Center) and on Rutgers Day (April 29, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Scott Hall on College Avenue Campus). Shout Outs will appear on the stadium video board during the ceremony. 

Parking registration for Commencement is open and registration has been extended to 10 a.m. on May 1. Graduating students must register to receive two free parking hangtags for themselves and their families or guests in order to park on campus on May 14. Commencement Special Needs Parking Registration is available for guests who are not able to walk more than 1/2 mile. Information regarding regalia sales, parking registration, shout out filming, day-of information, and more is available on the website. More information will be sent to students' ScarletMail accounts, and family and friends are also able to sign up for email updates regarding Commencement. Volunteers Needed for Commencement—All Students
Volunteers are needed for the 2023 Rutgers–New Brunswick and RBHS Commencement ceremony taking place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at SHI Stadium. Student volunteers are needed for a variety of positions which are vital to ensuring that Commencement goes smoothly and effectively. Commencement Ambassadors receive training, a Commencement t-shirt, a thank-you gift, a breakfast reception before Commencement, entry into a volunteer raffle, and the satisfaction of making the day even better for Rutgers' newest alumni. Register as a Commencement Ambassador here. Finals Prep at the Learning Centers—All Students
The Learning Centers invites students to attend a group workshop facilitated by academic coaches for final exam preparation. The workshops help students prepare study plans for exams and provide useful exam preparation strategies. 2023–2024 Bloustein Honors Research Program Information Session—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is hosting an information session for the Bloustein Honors Research Program. The program offers a select group of students majoring in undergraduate programs at Bloustein an opportunity to conduct in-depth research that aligns with the applied research conducted from Bloustein faculty in their senior year. Applications for the Master’s Program in Political Science–Concentration in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies & Virtual Information Sessions—Undergraduate Students
The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time period. The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is hosting virtual information sessions for their master’s & graduate certificate programs in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Health Administration, and Public Informatics. Applications are still being accepted for Fall 2023, and the GRE is waived. Merit-based scholarships are available, and no work experience is required. Success.rutgers.edu is dedicated to helping students find all of the services and resources to succeed and is organized around four themes: Success Essentials, Academic Support Services, Involvement & Community, and Experiential Learning & Career Preparation. The site is easily searchable and includes important "How To" instructional videos and guides for topics such as Course Scheduling, Add/Drop, Canvas, Teams, the Handshake Career Management platform, and more.

2023 Tri-State Career & Internship Fair—All Students
The Tri-State Career & Internship Fair takes place on Friday, April 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Jersey Mike's Arena on the Livingston Campus. Over 150+ employers will be available to network with candidates to discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields. The fair is open to all Rutgers students and alumni, as well as to the general public. Learn more about the fair here.
