Deadline to Waive/Enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) for Spring 2025: February 10, 2025—All Students
Is the charge ($1,709.00) on your term bill for spring 2025? If yes, and you have comparable health insurance, complete the waiver form. If you need health insurance, complete the enrollment form. The deadline to submit the waiver is February 10, 2025. You do not need to wait on the term bill to waive or enroll.

Mandatory action is required each semester before the deadline date. Rutgers requires full time, and all F&J Rutgers visa sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each semester before the deadline. For details, visit www.universityhealthplans.com.

  • Waiving? The premium should be removed from the term bill four (4) business days after submitting the waiver form. If you failed to waive before the deadline, your enrollment in the SHIP will be automatically processed. You will then be responsible for the premium on the term bill, even though you have other comparable health insurance. Check the term bill to confirm removal of the premium. F&J Rutgers Visa Sponsored Students must contact Rutgers Global for information about the waiver process.
  • Enrolling? Complete the enrollment form before the deadline. Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling, and you must complete the enrollment form to finalize the process. The policy (2024-519-02) with UnitedHealthcare Student Resources (UHCSR) offers nationwide year-round coverage for on and off campus medical care. The coverage periods for policy 2024-519-02 are Fall 2024: 8/15/24-1/14/2025 and Spring 2025: 1/15/25-8/14/2025.

For contact information, deadline dates, insurance premiums, waiver requirements, and waiver/enrollment processes, please visit www.universityhealthplans.com.
