Waiver: If you completed the waiver before the deadline and the premium was removed from the term bill, NO further action is required. Once a waiver appeal is submitted, the premium will be automatically removed from the term bill within (four) 4 business days. The waiver appeal deadline is April 30, 2024.
Enrollment: If an enrollment form was not submitted before the deadline, enrollment in the SHIP is now being processed and the insurance card will be available in a few days. Waiver Appeal and Enrollment Guidelines for the Student Health Insurance Plan—All Students
Mandatory action required: Rutgers requires full time and F&J Rutgers visa sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each semester before the deadline.
Waiver: If you completed the waiver before the deadline and the premium was removed from the term bill, NO further action is required. University Health Plans (Broker) does not have access to the term bill, and therefore cannot confirm if the premium was removed. Students/parents/families can view the term bill online to confirm.
Waiver Appeal: If a waiver was not submitted before February 9, 2024, you may complete a waiver appeal at www.universityhealthplans.com before April 30, 2024. F&J Rutgers visa sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at RGlobal via email to request a waiver appeal before April 30, 2024.
Students who failed to submit a waiver before the deadline are now being added to the SHIP and are responsible for the premium on the term bill even though they may have comparable health insurance.
Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling, and the form should be completed each semester before the deadline. Please visit www.universityhealthplans.com to view the summary of benefits and how to get the insurance card.
