Final Exam Schedules—All Students
Rutgers–New Brunswick students can now view their final exam schedules in the "My Course Schedule" widget on their myRutgers dashboard, which replaces the former final exam schedule website. Learn how to view exam schedules via the "My Course Schedule" widget here.

Residence Hall Closures—All Students
Students whose residence halls will be closing for the winter break must vacate by 7 p.m. on Friday, December 23. More information regarding closures, checklists, on-campus services during winter break, and a list of residence halls that will remain open can be found here.

One Stop Student Services Center Closure on Tuesday, December 13—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center will be closed on Tuesday, December 13, and will resume normal in-person hours on Wednesday, December 14. During the closure, One Stop can still be reached via the contact form.

Registration for Winter Term—All Students
Winter Session begins on December 23. Earn credits towards a degree during winter break and choose from 150 courses in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about winter session here.

Fall 2022 Add/Drop Dates—Undergraduate Students
Thursday, December 15, is the last day to withdraw from the University for Fall 2022. RU Here Winter 2023—All Students
Students must verify their attendance through the RU Here process at the start of each semester that they are registered to take classes. Cash Payments & Change in Operating Hours—All Students
Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, it is strongly encouraged that students use electronic payment methods instead of cash payments for paying term bills. Please review payment options and the Cash Handling Policy for more information. The Payment Center at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall on the Busch Campus will be operating at reduced hours for in-person payments for the month of December: Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Information for Federal Government's Student Debt Relief Plan—All Students
The federal government has announced a plan to cancel up to $10,000 in federal student debt for Americans earning less than $125,000 per year ($250,000 for couples), and up to $20,000 for borrowers who received Pell Grants while they were in college. Learn more about the debt relief program here.

GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
Rutgers University has partnered with GradGuard to make the Tuition Protection Insurance Plan available to students and families. The plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events that force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered medical reason, including mental health conditions and illness from epidemic and pandemic diseases. myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. Engagement Hub Is Here—Undergraduate Students
The Engagement Hub is a new addition offered by the Student Activities Center and will serve as a resource for students looking to get involved on campus. The Engagement Hub is the home for the Engagement Ambassadors who are knowledgeable undergraduate student consultants who serve as a resource for their fellow Scarlet Knights. Preparing for Finals: Learning Centers Services—All Students
The Rutgers Learning Centers offer academic support services, both in-person and online, until the end of the final exam period. To view drop-in tutoring schedules or to make an academic coaching or writing tutoring appointment, please visit the Online Services Page. Students can also get asynchronous feedback and general comments from a tutor on their writing by uploading a draft of their paper to the Learning Center Canvas page. The Institute for Women's Leadership is accepting applications for the Leadership Scholars Certificate Program. This two-year and 19-credit certificate program explores women’s leadership for social change, with benefits such as a career-building internship, funding for self-designed social action projects, and building community with other young women leaders. Applications for the Rutgers-Eagleton Washington Internship Award—Undergraduate Students
The Eagleton Institute of Politics is accepting applications for the Rutgers-Eagleton Washington Internship Award. The $6,000 award supports outstanding Rutgers students who are interested in completing an unpaid, non-profit government internship in Washington D.C. during Summer 2023. This opportunity is open to all class years, including first years and graduating seniors, all majors, and all campus locations. Rutgers Internship and Co-op Course (RICC)—Undergraduate Students The Rutgers Internship and Co-Op Course (RICC) is a 3 or 6-credit general elective course that students can take concurrently with an internship or co-op experience to earn academic credit. The course is housed in Canvas and is an asynchronous with three virtual synchronous meetings throughout the semester. Rutgers Summer Service Internship (RSSI) Program—Undergraduate Students
The Rutgers Summer Service Internship Program (RSSI) provides select students with an opportunity to earn up to $5,000 while interning for a minimum of 150-hours over 10-12 weeks during the summer at a public service non-profit organization or direct-service government office. Students also participate in a concurrent virtual, asynchronous internship course designed to explore and engage with the topic of public service while building their career readiness and professionalism skills. The program is accepting student applications for the summer 2023 cohort. Financial Planning for the New Year with Scarlet$ense—All Students
Students are encouraged to review their personal financial foundation for the next year and coordinate finances to reach their goals, such as setting SMART goals, creating an Emergency Fund, having realistic plans to pay credit card bills, and checking credit scores and histories. Students may visit Scarlet$ense, a new campus-wide comprehensive program on financial literacy at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, for more financial tips and information.

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline for the Fall 2022 semester should follow these guidelines:

  • Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by November 30, 2022.
     
  • Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.

GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
Rutgers University has partnered with GradGuard to make the Tuition Protection Insurance Plan available to students and families. The plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events that force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered medical reason, including mental health conditions and illness from epidemic and pandemic diseases. myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. A Flu Vaccination Clinic will be held on Wednesday November 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Yard at Sojourner Truth Apartments, College Avenue Campus. Engagement Hub Is Here—Undergraduate Students
The Engagement Hub is a new addition offered by the Student Activities Center and will serve as a resource for students looking to get involved on campus. The Engagement Hub is the home for the Engagement Ambassadors who are knowledgeable undergraduate student consultants who serve as a resource for their fellow Scarlet Knights. Learning Centers Open until Midnight on November 30—All Students
The Learning Centers will be open from 8 p.m. until midnight on Wednesday, November 30, to help students prepare for final exams or final projects. Students will have the opportunity to take advantage of extended hours for focused study, drop-in tutoring, academic coaching, and writing tutoring at both the Busch Learning Center and the College Avenue Learning Center. Take the Diversity Peer Educator Course—Undergraduate Students
Students are invited to register for this spring’s Diversity Peer Educator Course, a 7-week, 1.5 credit course coordinated through the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities and the Department of Residence Life. Student Health Insurance Information—All Students Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline for the Fall 2022 semester should follow these guidelines:

  • Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by November 30, 2022.
     
  • Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.

Information for Federal Government's Student Debt Relief Plan—All Students
The federal government has announced a plan to cancel up to $10,000 in federal student debt for Americans earning less than $125,000 per year ($250,000 for couples), and up to $20,000 for borrowers who received Pell Grants while they were in college. Learn more about the debt relief program here.

Scarlet $ense Financial Literacy Module—All Students
Scarlet $ense is a new, campus-wide comprehensive program on financial literacy at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. Programming includes student loan borrowing and repayments, budgeting, savings, investing, and debt. Students have access to a free financial literacy website, workshops, freshman and transfer seminars, and webinars on financial literacy topics. To complete a module, please login here.   

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline for the Fall 2022 semester should follow these guidelines:

  • Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by November 30, 2022.
  • Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.

Winter 2023 Payment Plans—All Students

Back on Track Support Group—All Students
The Back On Track Support Group, offered through the Learning Centers, is a supportive community and avenue for students to come together who are facing academic challenges and perhaps falling behind in classes. Whether the first round of exams hit hard, or if students are trying to get “back on track” from a previous semester, this group can connect them with strategies and tools that can address academic barriers to success in their courses. Additionally, students will get to meet and support other peers who are facing similar challenges. This group is facilitated by an Academic Coach but will be mostly student-led in discussion. Learn more and register here.

Take the Diversity Peer Educator Course—Undergraduate Students
Students are invited to register for this spring’s Diversity Peer Educator Course, a 7-week, 1.5 credit course coordinated through the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities and the Department of Residence Life. The course prepares students to navigate challenging and engaging discourse while enhancing leadership skills. The deadline to sign up is Thursday, December 1, 2022. Applications for the Ph.D. Program in Industrial Relations and Human Resources—All Students
The School of Management and Labor Relations is accepting applications for the Ph.D. program in Industrial Relations and Human Resources (IRHR) from Rutgers undergraduate and graduate students of all majors and concentrations. The IRHR Ph.D. program trains students to design, conduct, and publish rigorous research on the world of work and workers in leading scholarly journals, and prepares students for research-oriented careers in academia. Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2023 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The deadline is January 15, 2023. Any questions concerning a diploma application can be submitted to the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office via this webform. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Financial

Scarlet $ense Financial Literacy Program Workshop—All Students The Office of Financial Aid is offering their first in-person Scarlet $ense Financial Literacy workshop for the Fall term on Wednesday, October 26, from 2 to 3 p.m. in room 107A of Dr. Samuel DeWitt Proctor Hall on the Busch Campus. Please sign up for the seminar here and view the free financial literacy website here.

Financial Holds—All Students  Financial holds have been placed on accounts with unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for spring semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline for the Fall 2022 semester should follow these guidelines:

  • Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by November 30, 2022.
  • Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.

Information for Federal Government's Student Debt Relief Plan—All Students
The federal government has announced a plan to cancel up to $10,000 in federal student debt for Americans earning less than $125,000 per year ($250,000 for couples), and up to $20,000 for borrowers who received Pell Grants while they were in college. Learn more about the debt relief program here.

GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
GradGuard Tuition Insurance Plans purchased on or after February 18, 2022, now include the Epidemic Coverage Endorsement, which can provide coverage for when an insured student completely withdraws from school for the covered term due to becoming ill with any epidemic or pandemic disease, including COVID-19 and Monkeypox. The Learning Centers are offering MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test) Prep Workshops for all students thinking about taking the exam or who have already begun preparing. Take the DOTS Bus Survey—All Students
The Department of Transportation Services (DOTS) invites students to take the Rutgers University–New Brunswick Campus Bus System Survey. Student participation will assist in informing future enhancements to the system and improve the student experience. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and will be open until Thursday, October 20. Participants who complete the survey may enter into a drawing to win one of seven $100 gift cards to kite + key, Rutgers Tech Store. Please submit any questions via DOTSHelp.rutgers.edu.

Make a plan to vote in the 2022 Midterm Election—All Students
There is an election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Students who want to cast their vote in elections happening this fall must be registered to vote. On-campus undergraduate and graduate students can register at their on-campus residence hall or off-campus address. Out-of-state students are also eligible to register in New Jersey. All New Jersey voter registration changes must be completed by Tuesday, October 18. Out-of-state voters should be sure to check their state's election deadlines and requirements. GRE Prep Workshops—Undergraduate Students
The Learning Centers offer GRE Prep Workshops for students who are getting ready for graduate school and need to take the GRE exams. These workshops are free and open to all Rutgers students. Workshops will provide students with strategies and hands-on activities to better help prepare for the exam. Learn more and register for workshops here.

Applications for the Mary Ann and Steven J. Allard Fellowship Program in Public Health (Deadline Extended)—Undergraduate Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and the Allard Family have established a fellowship for outstanding, declared, and non-traditional public health students who have demonstrated a personal commitment or outstanding academic potential in their public health studies. For 2022–2023, two eligible undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA will be selected as fellows to receive $2,000 each. Registration for Winter Term—All Students
Registration for the Winter 2023 term has begun. Earn credits towards a degree during winter break and choose from 150 courses in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about winter session here.

Fall 2022 Add/Drop Dates—Undergraduate Students
October 31: Last day to withdraw from a course with a “W” grade
December 15: Last day to withdraw from the University for Fall 2022

Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2023 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The deadline is January 15, 2023. Any questions concerning a diploma application can be submitted to the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office via this webform. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Financial

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline for the Fall 2022 semester should follow these guidelines:

  • Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by November 30, 2022.
  • Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.

Information for Federal Government's Student Debt Relief Plan—All Students
The federal government has announced a plan to cancel up to $10,000 in federal student debt for Americans earning less than $125,000 per year ($250,000 for couples), and up to $20,000 for borrowers who received Pell Grants while they were in college. Students or borrowers with questions are encouraged to check the Federal Student Aid's website and to sign up for email updates from the U.S. Department of Education for more information. The White House's Fact Sheet containing data related to the debt relief and extension of the loan repayment pause can be viewed here.

Set Up Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Direct deposit is the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds issued by Rutgers. All students are required to enroll in direct deposit. Please note that direct deposit is currently not available for summer. View instructions for setting up direct deposit here.

Cash Payments—All Students
Due to the health and safety concerns associated with handling cash for students and staff, we strongly encourage using electronic payment methods instead of cash payments. Please review payment options and the Cash Handling Policy for more information.

GradGuard Epidemic Coverage Endorsement—All Students
GradGuard Tuition Insurance Plans purchased on or after February 18, 2022, now include the Epidemic Coverage Endorsement, which can provide coverage for when an insured student completely withdraws from school for the covered term due to becoming ill with any epidemic or pandemic disease, including COVID-19 and Monkeypox. myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records, view financial aid rewards, or make payments on their behalf. To grant this access, students must log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

Scarlet $ense Financial Literacy Program—All Students
Rutgers University–New Brunswick introduces a new campus-wide comprehensive program on financial literacy that includes—but is not limited to—student loan borrowing and repayments, budgeting, savings, investing, and debt. In addition, students have access to a free financial literacy website, workshops, freshman and transfer seminars, and webinars on financial literacy topics.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Get Ready for Flu Season with Flu Vaccination Clinics—All Students
Fall 2022 Flu Vaccination Clinics will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

Take the DOTS Bus Survey—All Students
The Department of Transportation Services (DOTS) invites students to take the Rutgers University–New Brunswick Campus Bus System Survey. Student participation will assist in informing future enhancements to the system and improve the student experience. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and will be open until Wednesday, October 14. Participants who complete the survey may enter into a drawing to win one of seven $100 gift cards to kite + key, Rutgers Tech Store. Please submit any questions via DOTSHelp.rutgers.edu.

Make a plan to vote in the 2022 Midterm Election—All Students
There is an election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Students who want to cast their vote in elections happening this fall must be registered to vote. On-campus undergraduate and graduate students can register at their on-campus residence hall or off-campus address. Out-of-state students are also eligible to register in New Jersey. All New Jersey voter registration changes must be completed by Tuesday, October 18. Out-of-state voters should be sure to check their state's election deadlines and requirements. Peer Coaching with the Learning Centers—All Students
The Learning Centers offer peer coaching which helps students learn new study strategies, develop time management, and participate in facilitated small groups that are capped at 6 students per session. Peer coaching sessions provide individualized attention to help students become more effective learners. Sign into Penji and join the community titled "LC Academic Coaching." Then, click on "Join a peer coaching group session" and select "Peer coaching with ___". One-on-one peer coaching is also available.
