Did you know that the Rutgers Geology Museum is celebrating its 150th anniversary? The museum was founded in 1872 by State Geologist George H. Cook to exhibit the many specimens collected by the New Jersey Geological Survey. Learn more about the museum and its history here.

Did you know that you can start prepping for final exams or final projects by joining the Learning Centers at their third annual Night Against Procrastination event on Wednesday, November 30? At this event, attendees will have a reserved space for focused study, drop-in tutoring, academic coaching, writing tutoring, complimentary brain food and snacks from Jersey Mike's, free beverages, stress-relieving activities, and the opportunity to meet with de-stresser dogs and guinea pigs. This event will be hosted at the Busch Learning Center and the College Avenue Learning Center from 8 p.m. to midnight. Space is limited, so please pre-register here.

Did you know that November 10 is Rutgers University's birthday? On November 10, 1766, William Franklin, the last colonial governor of New Jersey and Benjamin Franklin's son, signed the charter establishing Queen's College, the forerunner of Rutgers University. 256 years and we're still going strong. Happy birthday to us!

Did you know that the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center (DDDC) is commemorating 50 years of supporting the autism community? The DDDC, a unit of the Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP), is part of the school’s Applied and Academic Autism Services division, which includes the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services and GSAPP’s academic programs in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism. Did you know that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month? The Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance (VPVA) maintains free trauma-informed counseling and advocacy services, a hotline number for those impacted by violence, and a support system of survivors. VPVA is located on 3 Bartlett Street in New Brunswick where it is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday–Friday. Crisis intervention and advocacy are available 24/7 on their hotline at 848-932-1181 (press 0 after hours to connect with an advocate). Did you know that the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is holding a Major & Minor Fair on Wednesday, October 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Livingston Student Center? This is an opportunity to meet and connect with academic advisors across many schools and services at Rutgers. Registration for Spring 2023 courses is coming soon, and meeting with an SAS major or minor advisor can help you prepare. At a public forum on Wednesday, Sept.28, Rutgers–New Brunswick Chancellor-Provost Francine Conway and Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway presented a suite of initiatives that will transform the student experience, sharpen the focus on the health and well-being of our community, direct our research power toward society’s greatest challenges, and more.
