Mandatory Spring Break Reporting Form for On-Campus Residents—All Students 
Rutgers University is strongly advising residents against traveling or leaving campus for Spring Break. This advisement is based on the desire to protect communities against the spread of COVID-19. All halls will remain open for university breaks. All residents, despite intent to remain on campus or travel, must complete a Mandatory Break Status Form by noon on Monday, March 1. For safety guidelines, please complete the Mandatory Break Status Form or deactivation of building access will default. Learn more and access the Mandatory Break Status Form here.

1098Ts—All Students
Students received an email notification on January 29, 2021, with instructions for viewing and printing their 2020 1098T tax forms for Educational Tax Credits. Students with scholarships and grant aid greater than their qualified tuition and fee charges are not eligible to claim a tax deduction and will not see a 1098T form. An important note for this year's form is that any CARES funding received through the term bill will not be included on the form. Learn more about the 1098T form here.

Annual (2021–2022), Summer & Fall 2021 Rutgers Tuition Payment Plans—All Students 
Annual, Summer, and Fall tuition payment plans are now available. Students looking to sign up for a payment plan need to log into the current semester term bill to sign up until the Summer and Fall term bills are released. Visit paymentplans.rutgers.edu for more information.

Sign Up for Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds—All Students
Students are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit in order to receive funds faster and avoid paper checks getting lost in the mail or arriving late. Learn more about how to enroll here.

The Pass/No Credit option remains available to undergraduate students for courses taken during the Spring 2021 semester. Students should evaluate this option carefully and in consultation with academic advisors at their school to understand the full ramifications of such a decision for their particular academic major, career path, and financial aid standing. COVID-19 Testing Information & Contact Tracing—All Students
All students living in campus housing, living off-campus in the New Brunswick/Piscataway area, and students in groups required to receive testing can access testing through Rutgers Student Health. Details about testing can be found here.

  • Off-campus students must register their local address here. Local addresses are needed in order for public health officials to properly track and respond to the pandemic.
  • There is no cost for testing through Rutgers Student Health.
  • Students who experience symptoms, had contact with someone who tested positive, are worried, or are unsure about getting tested, should call Rutgers Student Health at 848-932-7402. Student Health will schedule a same-day appointment time to speak with a clinician, answer questions, and provide a test that day.
  • Students who are contacted by a Contact Tracer are highly encouraged to speak with them. Contact Tracers provide valuable information and resources to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Learning Centers Open Study Group Registration and Upcoming Workshops—All Students
The Learning Centers offer free study groups through the Learning Assistant (LA) Program through Monday, May 3. This semester, all study groups will take place online and meet once per week for 80 minutes. Students may register for a study group here. The Learning Centers also offer academic skills and writing workshops for individual students and for student groups, university organizations, and courses. These workshops cover topics from how to write a personal statement to how to cite sources. Register for a TA Project Workshop—Graduate Students
Graduate students are invited to register for workshops offered by the TA Project at the School of Graduate Studies. These workshops cover a wide range of topics to assist TAs with their continued professional development. These sessions, designed for current and future graduate student TAs, are free. During the Spring 2021 semester, all workshops will be held remotely via Zoom. Applications for the Eagleton Graduate Fellowship Program—Graduate Students
Applications are now available for the Class of 2022 Eagleton Graduate Fellowship Program in Politics and Government and is open to Rutgers graduate students. Stipends and tuition remission are available. Participants will build knowledge, skills, and networks to engage in American politics, government, and local communities. Students may complete the program while pursuing a degree without interruption, and an interdisciplinary cohort and curriculum connects the fellowship experience to a chosen field of study. The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy has established the Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship Program in Public Service to honor Mr. Voorhees' commitment to community service. Each year, the school selects undergraduates from any major at Rutgers–New Brunswick who are dedicated to civic engagement. Fellows receive $5,000 & participate in a credit-bearing partnership with community organizations. Applications are due on March 5, 2021. Payments are accepted in the form of e-check or credit card and can be made via the online term bill. Black Mentoring Circle—All Students
The Paul Robeson Cultural Center invites the Rutgers community to join in this month’s Black Mentoring Circle. With a new topic each month, the Circle provides a virtual space where students can participate in guided educational discourse relevant to the Black student experience. Residence Life Global Roommmate Program Mentor Recruitment—Undergraduate Students
The Residence Life Global Roommate Program is recruiting students who are interested in supporting new undergraduate international students in their transition to Rutgers and the United States. Applicants should be current Rutgers students who have an interest in living with international students for the 2021–2022 academic year. The Rutgers Commuter Student Association (RCSA) is an inclusive volunteer student organization whose primary role is to serve commuter students’ needs and interests while building a community on campus. RCSA promotes commuter student integration into the larger Rutgers population through programming and advocacy with other student organizations, committees, and departments. Available chair positions include Public Relations, Events, Initiatives, and Student Assembly. The deadline for applications is by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 21. Student Center Hours and Personal Meeting Room Reservations Available—All Students
The Busch, College Avenue, and Livingston student centers are open from Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The student centers will be closed on weekends. Select food vendors are now open in the College Avenue Student Center. Students may also reserve personal meeting rooms at the student centers for academic engagement such as online classes, academic sessions, exams, and meetings with professors and other Rutgers staff. Students may reserve space here.

Rutgers Virtual Career Internship Fair Series—All Students
The Rutgers Virtual Career Internship Fair Series is open to all Rutgers University candidates including current students, graduate students, and alumni. Over 100 employers will be available to network with candidates to discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields. Students can visit the fair website or their Rutgers Handshake account to register for 1-on-1 virtual sessions and connect directly with recruiters.

The schedule of classes for the Summer 2021 term is now available. Choose from more than 2,500 courses in a wide range of subjects. Student Center Hours and Personal Meeting Room Reservations Available—All Students
The Busch, College Avenue, and Livingston student centers are open from Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The student centers will be closed on weekends. Select food vendors are now open in the College Avenue Student Center. Students may also reserve personal meeting rooms at the student centers for academic engagement such as online classes, academic sessions, exams, and meetings with professors and other Rutgers staff. Students are invited to attend Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences Chancellor Brian Strom's biweekly briefings on COVID-19-related topics ranging from the state of the pandemic to health agency guidance, campus testing news, clinical updates, and other news. Personal Meeting Room Reservations Available at Rutgers Student Centers—All Students
Student Centers and Activities has personal meeting room reservations for academic engagement available for students looking for a place to study, online classes, academic sessions, or exams and meetings with professors. Room reservations are limited to one per day for three hours, with a maximum of two people. A current RUID is required for reservations. Students can reserve space at the Busch, College Avenue or Livingston Student Centers here

Apply for the Spring 2021 First-Year Fellowship Emerging Leaders Program—Undergraduate Students
The First-Year Fellowship Emerging Leaders Program is currently recruiting for spring semester. This program from the Office of Leadership & Experiential Learning in Student Centers and Activities is designed to support first-year and new transfer students in becoming the next generation of leaders on campus and beyond. This 8-week, 1.5-credit course gives students a chance to develop leadership styles and connect with other similarly-motivated first-year students. Applications are due on December 14, 2020.

Earn Credit Towards a Degree with the Rutgers Internship and Co-op Program—All Students
The Rutgers Internship and Co-op Program (RICP) is an online pass/fail course for academic credit during the spring semester while working at an internship. By enrolling in the course, students will have an instructor to offer expert advice and help navigate the work environment. Participants will also increase marketability to future employers by developing skills in career management, professionalism and work ethic, digital technology, and oral and written communications. Give a Gift through RUPA's Winter Wishes Program—All Students
Students can provide a child with gifts or books this holiday season through the Rutgers University Programming Association's (RUPA) Winter Wishes Program. Winter Wishes is an annual program that provides gifts of clothing and toys to children ages 3-5 in preschool in New Brunswick schools. This year, due to COVID-19, RUPA will be doing the shopping, but the community can help by adopting wishes. Winter Wish Adoption is online this year and will be open until December 15.   • Students who experience symptoms, had contact with someone who tested positive, are worried, or are unsure about getting tested, should call Rutgers Student Health at 848-932-7402. Byrne Seminars are small, one-credit courses taught by Rutgers’ world-renowned faculty who come from departments and professional schools across the university. Limited to just 20 students per section, each unique seminar introduces students to the professor’s area of expertise and their latest research. Change in Designation of Class Day This Week
This week is shortened due to the Thanksgiving recess. Wednesday, November 25, follows a Friday class schedule.

Modified Hours of Operation for Busch, College Avenue, and Livingston Student Centers
The Busch, College Avenue, and Livingston student centers will operate on a modified schedule from November 23–November 29 due to the Thanksgiving holiday:

  • Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24: 8 a.m.–10 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 25: 8 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 26 through Sunday, November 29: CLOSED
  • Both King Pita and Subway (College Ave Student Center) will be closed Wednesday, November 25 

Student Centers will resume normal operation hours on Monday, November 30. The Cook and Douglass student centers as well as the Student Activities Center will remain closed. Please view more operating status information here.

Withdrawal for New Brunswick Undergraduate Students—Undergraduate Students
The last day to withdraw from a class with a “W” and from the university is Monday, November 30. Students must notify their dean's office to complete an official withdrawal from school form.
