Fall 2020 Add-Drop Dates—Undergraduate Students
September 11: Last day to add courses
September 14: Last day to drop courses without a "W" grade
September 15–November 30: Drop courses with a "W" grade

View and Pay Fall Semester Term Bills—All Students
Fall semester term bills are now available to view and make payment. Term bills not paid by the due date will be assessed a late payment fee of $125.00. It is recommended that students enroll in one of the Rutgers University Tuition Payment Plans (RUTPP) for those unable to pay the full amount due by the due date. Please view additional information and payment plan options here.

Cashiers' Office Operating Status—All Students
The Cashiers' Offices are operating remotely and will not be open for in-person visits for the remainder of the fall semester. For assistance, please visit studentabc.rutgers.edu or the Official Rutgers University App. Students should also consider the following:

• Students and authorized users can make online payments at paymybill.rutgers.edu. Please note eChecks are processed at no charge. Credit/debit card transactions are assessed a 2.7% non-refundable service fee.
• Scholarship checks can be mailed to the Cashiers’ Office according to these instructions.

myGuest Authorized User Access for Term Bills, Grades, and More—All Students
Students can now authorize a third party or a parent with access to review academic records or make payments on their behalf. In order to grant this access, students must to log in to their myRutgers Dashboard, and use the "Authorized Access" icon to provide access to the desired authorized party. Additional instructions for the myGuest Dashboard can be found here.

Set Up Electronic Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to set up direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited electronically. Learn more about electronic deposit here.

Reduce or Decline Student Loans—All Students
Students may reduce or decline their loans through the Data Change Form (DCF), which is found on the personal financial aid offer letter. Lean more about accessing the DCF here.

Submit Missing Financial Aid Documents—All Students
Students may view their missing documents, along with instructions regarding how to complete and submit them, by checking their financial aid award status here.

First Day (Digital Course Materials)—All Students
Students enrolled in a course participating in the First Day program (indicated on the Web Registration System) will be able to access their digital course materials directly from the course within Canvas. If participating, students will see an additional charge on their term bills listed as a "Digital Book Charge". Students can opt-out of this program using the Course Material link in Canvas.

Dining Plan Change and Cancellation Requests—All Students
Dining plan change and cancellation requests for the Fall 2020 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, September 15. This is the only time during the semester that reductions and cancellations will be allowed.

RU Express Cancellation and Reduction Requests—All Students
RU Express initial deposit cancellation and reduction requests for the Fall 2020 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, September 15. This is the only time during the semester that cancellations or reductions will be allowed and only if the money for the Fall 2020 semester HAS NOT been used.

Dining Services Operating Status and Meal Plan Information—All Students
Dining Services is now offering online ordering for pickup using meal swipes. Meal plans are also available with packages from 50 to 285 meals for the semester. Select dining locations are open seven days a week. Please visit the Dining Services website for the most up-to-date information and send any questions via this contact form.

Changes to Transportation and Parking—All Students
Students coming to campus should be aware of changes to parking permits, parking lots, and campus buses this semester. Fall 2020 E-Permits are currently available for purchase online, and permits are required for parking on campus at all times. The campus buses are currently following new routes and schedules. Computer Lab Locations and Hours—All Students
Starting September 8, computer labs in Alexander Library on the College Avenue Campus, James Dickson Carr Library on the Livingston Campus, and the Library of Science and Medicine (LSM) on the Busch Campus will be open for limited hours. View computer lab hours and services here.

Updated Student Center Hours and Food Vendor Information—All Students
Student centers are open with limited hours and services on the Busch, College Avenue, and Livingston campuses. Beginning September 8, the student centers are open from Mondays–Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The centers are closed on the weekends. In addition, select food locations within the Busch and College Avenue student centers are open starting September 8. View a complete list of Student Center hours and services here.

Activate Your Rutgers Handshake Account—All Students
The Office of Career Exploration and Success has transitioned all programs and services to the virtual space using various platforms. All students should activate their Rutgers Handshake account and complete their profile as soon as possible. Students can schedule virtual appointments with a career advisor, register for virtual programs and fairs, apply to jobs, and request virtual interviews with employers. Disclosure Statements—All Students
Students can find legal disclosures and information concerning academic programs, drug and alcohol policies, including the Drug Free Schools and Campuses Act, the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, institutional and specialized accreditation, nondiscrimination and harassment, Title IX, public safety information, peer-to-peer file sharing, withdrawal from the institution, and more here.

Title IX Policy and Grievance Procedures—Rutgers prohibits discrimination based on sex. Our new, interim Title IX Policy and Grievance Procedures contains a comprehensive explanation of “consent,” describes the rights that apply to both the complainant and respondent and lists the range of supportive measures the university may offer before, during, and after the investigation. Policy Against Harassment, Intimidation, Bullying, and Defamation—Intolerance, bigotry and bullying are antithetical to the values of the university and the Rutgers Code of Student Conduct prohibits harassment, intimidation, bullying and defamation. The Code of Student Conduct contains definitions, descriptions of violations and procedures for addressing violations. Students who wish to discuss any matter with the police or feel they are in need of immediate police attention may contact the Rutgers University Police Department at 732-932-7111 (New Brunswick).
Pregnant Students—Rutgers University is committed to creating and maintaining a community where all individuals enjoy freedom from discrimination, including discrimination on the basis of pregnancy as mandated by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and New Jersey law. Visit the Virtual Involvement Fair from September 14–16—All Students
The Virtual Involvement Fair takes place on Monday, September 14, through Wednesday, September 16. Students interested in attending can log on at any point during the 3-day session to learn more about the nearly 700 student groups, fraternities and sororities, sports clubs, and university departments. For more virtual events being hosted by Student Centers and Activities, please visit sca.rutgers.edu.

LVL UP Now Accepting Applications for Second-Year Students—Undergraduate Students
Applications are open for the LVL UP program for second-year students offered by Student Centers and Activities: Leadership and Experiential Learning. Students will face changes as they transition into their second-year, like shifting to major-specific related courses; declaring their major; taking on positions within student organizations; and managing large teams. Students will develop the skills necessary to succeed while also training for position-specific responsibilities. The application deadline is September 16. Learn more and apply to LVL UP here.

First-Year Fellowship Applications Now Open—First-Year Students
Applications are open for the First-Year Fellowship Certificate Program offered by Student Centers and Activities: Leadership and Experiential Learning. This program features a curriculum designed for emerging leaders to cultivate their skills and abilities to become the next generation of leaders. Participants take advantage of the opportunity to participate in an 8-week, 1.5-credit leadership course, in addition to being exposed to involvement opportunities. Previous leadership experience is NOT required to participate. The application deadline is September 20. Learn more about the First-Year Fellowship Program here.

Welcome Weeks 2020—All Students
Welcome Weeks programming continues through October 30. Students can use this time to develop an understanding of the services at Rutgers, explore opportunities for involvement, and make connections with peers. Student Center Reopening Hours—All Students
Student centers are open with limited hours and services on the Busch, College Avenue, and Livingston campuses:

September 1–September 4: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
September 5–September 7: closed
Beginning September 8: Mondays–Thursdays 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed weekends.

Virtual Involvement Fair and Fall Virtual Activities—All Students
Student Centers and Activities hosts a series of virtual events this fall, including the Virtual Involvement Fair. The Virtual Involvement Fair takes place on Monday, September 14, through Wednesday, September 16. Students can log on at any point during the 3-day session to learn more about the 700+ student groups, fraternities and sororities, sports clubs, and departments. Learning Center Services—All Students
The Learning Centers offer all services online for the Fall 2020 semester and continue to provide drop-in tutoring, academic coaching, writing coaching, study groups, and workshops. Learn more about how to find tutoring schedules, make coaching appointments, and register for study groups here.

SMLR Labor Studies and Employment Relations Undergraduate Majors and Minors—Undergraduate Students
The School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) Labor Studies and Employment Relations Department is currently accepting students for the undergraduate major and minor. Students learn about issues related to diversity and inclusion, worker involvement and voice, and the changing workplace. Open Hearing on the University’s Tuition, Fees, and Housing and Dining Charges for 2020-2021—All Students
All students and members of the university community are invited to attend the Open Hearing on the University’s Tuition, Fees, and Housing and Dining Charges for 2020–2021 on Tuesday, May 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Comments made at the hearing help inform the university administration during the development of the university’s tuition and fees. Prospective speakers must individually register online or by email to secretary@oq.rutgers.edu before noon on May 18. Submit comments online until May 15.

Important Diploma Information (May 2020)—Undergraduate Students
Though Commencement is currently suspended, undergraduate students who anticipate completing May 2020 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online, or via a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the graduation application deadline for New Brunswick undergraduates has been extended to June 1. Please note that all diplomas will be mailed. Please contact the Undergraduate Registrar's Office with any questions. Furthermore, please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Summer Session 2020 Registration—All Students
Summer Session will proceed as scheduled. Choose from over 2,500 courses in a wide range of subjects, offered online or remotely. Make progress towards a degree, improve a GPA, or fulfill a prerequisite this summer. Learn more about Summer Session here.

Chancellor's Student Leadership Gala—All Students
Each year, the Chancellor’s Student Leadership Gala allows students the opportunity to be recognized and rewarded for their remarkable contributions to the university and community. These students consistently demonstrate collaboration, leadership and resourcefulness, have a tremendous passion for Rutgers, and go outside of their normal responsibilities to achieve goals. This year’s winners will be honored virtually on May 6, and will be listed on the awards website following the event.

Applications for the Master of Social Work (MSW), Scholarships Available—Undergraduate Students
The School of Social Work is still accepting applications for the Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Social workers are on the front line of today’s public health work, supporting families in need, providing clinical counseling, and advocating for vulnerable populations in local, state, and national governments. Clinical social work and Management and Policy specializations are available. Degrees can be earned in two years to expand careers and earning potential, and no GRE or experience is required. Apply to be a VPVA Crisis Response Advocate—All Students
The Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance (VPVA) is recruiting volunteers to be New Brunswick Crisis Response Advocates. Advocates provide support, information, and referrals at the time of a domestic or sexual assault crisis. Training will be held in the fall. Apply to be a Student Residence Coordinator—All Students
The Rutgers University Inn and Conference Center is currently accepting applications for student Residence Coordinator (RC) positions. RCs provide front desk coverage on a rotating basis and support services to overnight guests, conference attendees, and meeting organizers. Compensation includes free housing and a meal plan. Virtual Rainbow Graduation is May 20, 2020. Rainbow Graduation is a celebration that honors the achievements of Rutgers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) identified undergraduate and graduate students, and acknowledges the challenges and triumphs experienced during their academic careers. The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy has established the Ralph W. Voorhees Fellowship Program in Public Service to honor Mr. Voorhees' commitment to community service. Each year, the school selects undergraduates from any major at Rutgers–New Brunswick who are dedicated to civic engagement. Fellows receive $5,000 and participate in a credit-bearing partnership with community organizations. The application deadline has been extended to April 29, 2020. This dashboard allows students to give parents, guardians, and third parties access to view content and services related to their experience at the university, such as class schedules, financial aid awards, and their term bills. While the university is offering this service, access will not be granted without the student's permission due to the protection of student rights under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Applications for the Eagleton Fellowship Program–Deadline Extended to April 3—Graduate Students
Applications are now available for the 2020–2021 Eagleton Fellowship Program in Politics and Government and is open to Rutgers graduate students in all schools on the New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden campuses. Stipends and tuition remission are available. Fellows learn about real-world American politics, government, and public affairs. Students may complete the program while pursuing a degree without interruption, and an interdisciplinary cohort and curriculum connects the fellowship experience to a chosen field of study. Financial Holds—All Students
Financial holds will be placed on accounts with unpaid balances, preventing students from registering for Fall 2020. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should ensure they are on track to satisfy spring balances before the last installment is due, and financial aid recipients should ensure all aid has been credited. University Commencement Special Needs Parking Hangtag Registration Is Open—All Students
The University Commencement Office coordinates with the Rutgers Office of Disability Services to ensure that guests enjoy visiting campus on Commencement Day. For those with disabilities or requiring other accommodations for University Commencement on Sunday, May 17, 2020, parking registration is now open. Make A Difference–Volunteer at University Commencement—All Students
The Office of the Secretary is seeking volunteer Ambassadors for Rutgers University’s 254th Anniversary Commencement. Ambassadors are the volunteer force that helps University Commencement to celebrate and honor the hard work and dedication of Rutgers graduates. Ambassadors who volunteer receive parking, a t-shirt, gift, recognition on the stadium video board, entry into a raffle, and breakfast. Summer Conference Student Recruitment with Free On-Campus Housing and Pay—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students looking for summer employment are welcome to apply for a position as a Residence Life Conference Services employee. Students will receive free on-campus housing and will be paid $11/hour. Apply by March 13, 2020. Students looking to hold a leadership position on campus may consider becoming a LEx Leader. Leadership and Experiential Learning is looking for passionate and driven students to help coordinate the Mark Conference, lead Alternative Breaks, or be the face of the office as an Ambassador. Each role is designed to provide hands-on leadership experience and will help develop transferable skills. The application deadline is March 24, 2020. Students looking to sharpen writing skills, earn 1.5 credits, and network with agents, editors, and publishers this summer are encouraged to attend the 4th Annual Writers’ Conference. The conference is held from June 5-7, 2020. Students can hear from bestselling novelists including Jane Smiley (A Thousand Acres), Billy Collins (Sailing Alone Around the Room: New & Selected Poems), and many others.
