Residence Halls to Remain Open for Thanksgiving Recess—All Students
All residence halls will remain open for the University Thanksgiving Recess. Residential students living in certain halls should prepare for Winter Recess hall closing on December 23, 2019, at 7 p.m. More information and resources regarding hall closures can be found here.
Spring Registration Now Open–Take 30 Credits Per Year to Finish On Time—Undergraduate Students
For most undergraduate areas of study, it pays to complete 30 credits per year (over the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer semesters) to remain on track to graduate in four years for first year students, and two years for transfer students.
- Taking 30 credits per year will save students money on tuition and fees
- Graduating on time means students won’t miss out on wages and job opportunities
Students should speak with an advisor when planning schedules in order to develop a plan on how to graduate on time.

Applications for the Master’s Program in Political Science–Concentration in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies—Undergraduate Students
The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time period. Applications are being accepted for the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program. The McNair Program provides a supportive environment and a multitude of resources to assist and prepare students interested in pursuing a doctorate. Current undergraduate sophomore, rising juniors, and seniors who are low-income, first generation, or underrepresented students interested in pursuing a doctoral degree are encouraged to apply. Call for Proposals for Diversity Innovation Grants—All Students
The Division of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement announces the creation of Diversity Innovation Grants which offers a way for creative, innovative, and grassroots efforts to join in the larger strategy to move community values from ideals to actions. Priority will be given to proposals that build cross-campus, intergroup, and partnership approaches to support community. Applications for the Leadership and Experiential Learning First-Year Fellowship—Undergraduate Students
Leadership and Experiential Learning is now accepting applications for the First-Year Fellowship Certificate Program (FYF). The fellowship features a curriculum designed for emerging leaders to cultivate their skills and abilities to become the next generation of leaders on campus and beyond. Student Health Flu Vaccination Clinics—All Students
Student Health flu vaccination clinics will be held on November 6 from 1 to 8 p.m. at the International Lounge of the Busch Student Center and Trayes Hall of the Douglass Student Center. Save time by filling out forms ahead of time (find under "Fast Track Forms"). Students should bring their student IDs and insurance cards to the clinic. Alternate Resources for Prescriptions and Over-the-Counter Medications—All Students
Students who have previously filled prescriptions through the Rutgers Student Health Pharmacy should note that prescriptions have been transferred to the Walgreens at 1 Robert Wood Johnson Place (located in the RWJ/Barnabas Medical Center atrium) in New Brunswick. Students may also transfer prescriptions to another pharmacy of their choice. To do so, please contact Walgreens at 732-246-1745. Financial Holds—All Students
Financial holds will be placed on accounts that have unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for spring semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all aid has been credited. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.

Students will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from different academic departments, programs, student services offices, and more. Registration for Spring 2020 courses is coming soon, and meeting with an academic advisor within SAS or a prospective major or minor will help students prepare. The Eagleton Institute of Politics is accepting applications for the Class of 2021 Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Program. Associates learn about real-world politics and government from experienced practitioners and faculty. Students spend the last three semesters of their undergraduate education taking a series of three courses at Eagleton that link the study of politics to real-world applications. Associates also participate in an internship related to government policy or politics. This certificate program is a cooperative educational endeavor between the Eagleton Institute of Politics and the Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on October 25, 2019. All Rutgers juniors from all schools, departments, and campus locations are eligible to apply.

New Jersey Statewide Reverse Transfer Agreement—Undergraduate Students
Students who transferred from a New Jersey Community College before completing their Associate degrees who meet certain criteria may transfer credits earned at their four-year institution back to their former community college in order to satisfy the requirements to earn an Associate degree. Rutgers transfer students who are eligible and interested in participating will need to submit a formal request in accordance with FERPA regulations to have their academic records sent. Applications for the Darien Civic Engagement Project—Undergraduate Students
The Center for Youth Political Participation at the Eagleton Institute of Politics is accepting applications for the Darien Civic Engagement Project, a 1.5 credit class that links the study of politics and civic engagement education. Administering the RU Ready project in area high schools, students will equip and encourage young people in their community to be active citizens. Applications for the Bloustein Master of Public Informatics Program—All Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is now accepting applications for Fall 2020 admission to its Master of Public Informatics (MPI) program. This program is suited for students who have interests in big data, data science, and data management as it relates to the fields of public policy, urban planning, and health. New Jersey Statewide Reverse Transfer Agreement—Undergraduate Students
Students who transferred from a New Jersey Community College before completing their Associate degrees who meet certain criteria may transfer credits earned at their four-year institution back to their former community college in order to satisfy the requirements to earn an Associate degree. Rutgers transfer students who are eligible and interested in participating will need to submit a formal request in accordance with FERPA regulations to have their academic records sent. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Voter Registration Form Campus Drop-Off Locations—All Students
Students are encouraged to register to vote or update addresses by October 15, 2019. College students may choose to register from either a home address or a college address. Students who have changed dorms or are living at a different address from where they were previously registered must update registration. Students who were previously registered at “home” and now wish to register at school should complete a new application and select “Address Change” at the top of the form.

Student Health Flu Vaccination Clinics—All Students
The first on-campus flu vaccination clinics are on Thursday, October 10, from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Coffee House in the Livingston Student Center and at The Yard at the Sojourner Truth Apartments on the College Avenue Campus. The first 200 students at each clinic will receive a free t-shirt. Save time by filling out forms ahead of time (find under "Fast Track Forms"). SAS Major & Minor Fair—Undergraduate Students
The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is hosting the Major & Minor Fair on Wednesday, October 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Livingston Student Center. Students will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from different academic departments, programs, student services offices, and more. Registration for Spring 2020 courses is coming soon, and meeting with an academic advisor within SAS or a prospective major or minor will help students prepare. The Eagleton Institute of Politics is accepting applications for the Class of 2021 Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Program. Associates learn about real-world politics and government from experienced practitioners and faculty. Students spend the last three semesters of their undergraduate education taking a series of three courses at Eagleton that link the study of politics to real-world applications. Associates also participate in an internship related to government policy or politics. This certificate program is a cooperative educational endeavor between the Eagleton Institute of Politics and the Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on October 25, 2019. All Rutgers juniors from all schools, departments, and campus locations are eligible to apply.

Undergraduate students considering law school can complete the Rutgers Law 3+3 Program in just six years, instead of the usual seven years to earn an undergraduate and law degree. The program is open to students across all Rutgers campuses who complete the application process by March 1 of their third undergraduate year. Getting an annual flu shot is the most effective way to prevent the flu. Since the strain of the flu virus changes every year, annual vaccines are needed. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body that protect against the flu, so make plans to get vaccinated early in the fall, before flu season begins. Dining Plan Change and Cancellation Requests—All Students
Dining plan change and cancellation requests for the Fall 2019 semester are now being accepted in person at the RU Express and Board Plan Office, Records Hall, Room 102, on the College Avenue Campus until Tuesday, September 17, 2019. This is the only time during the semester that reductions and cancellations will be allowed. Requests may also be made online here.
RU Express Cancellation and Reduction Requests—All Students
RU Express initial deposit cancellation and reduction requests for the Fall 2019 semester are now being accepted in person at the RU Express and Board Plan Office, Records Hall, Room 102, on the College Avenue Campus until Tuesday, September 17, 2019. This is the only time during the semester that cancellations or reductions will be allowed and only if the money for the Fall 2019 semester HAS NOT been used. Requests may also be made online here.

File Sharing Software
The sharing of music and movies through the use of file sharing peer to peer (P2P) software available online is discouraged due to copyright and security issues. In compliance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), the university has provided guidelines to inform students about copyright laws. Copyright infringement and unauthorized distribution are against the law and will be enforced. Read the policy regarding file sharing software here.

The Daily Targum Funding
The Daily Targum is an independent, student-written and managed newspaper that is published by the Targum Publishing Company with a circulation throughout the Rutgers community. The newspaper is published in print Monday through Thursday and online Monday through Friday while classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters. Due to the results of the 2019 referendum, the refund process will no longer be in effect as Rutgers students will no longer have the option to fund the Targum through their student term bills. Students with further questions about the Targum's current status or how the paper maintains funding can reach out to business@dailytargum.com to learn more.
