Open Hearing on the University’s Tuition, Fees, and Housing and Dining Charges for 2022–2023—All Students
All students are invited to the Open Hearing on the University’s Tuition, Fees, and Housing and Dining Charges for 2022–2023 on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. Comments made at the Hearing help inform University administration while developing tuition and fees. Prospective speakers must register online or by emailing secretary@oq.rutgers.edu before noon on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Please submit comments online until Friday, April 22, 2022. Pre-registration for the Fall 2022 semester began on Monday, April 4, at 9 a.m. for New Brunswick undergraduate students with 90+ credits and continues through Tuesday, April 12. Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing May 2022 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online or a hard copy if the deadline has been missed. The May diploma deadline is Sunday, May 15, 2022. Any questions concerning a diploma application can be sent to the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office via this contact form. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Scarlet Guarantee—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students in their first and second years of study may qualify for the Scarlet Guarantee (SG) commencing Fall 2022. The SG, mirrored after the Garden State Guarantee, reflects Rutgers–New Brunswick's commitment to making a college degree more accessible and affordable by reducing the out-of-pocket costs for students and families. Eligible applicants must be New Jersey residents working toward their first bachelor’s degree and file the 2022–2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2022. Garden State Guarantee—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students in their third and fourth years of study may qualify for the Garden State Guarantee (GSG) commencing Fall 2022. The GSG is New Jersey’s promise to make a college degree more accessible and affordable by reducing the out-of-pocket costs for students and families. Eligible applicants must be New Jersey residents working toward their first bachelor’s degree and file the 2022–2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2022. Payment Implications of Russian Sanctions—All Students
Due to Visa and Mastercard’s decision to suspend coverage in Russia, Flywire has temporarily deactivated all credit/debit card payments originating from Russia to minimize any impact to payers. At this time, Flywire can accept bank transfer payments from Russia for payers seeking to send destination currency. Payers should work directly with their bank to understand any limitations the sanctions may impose on moving money abroad.
Financial Holds—All Students
Financial holds have been placed on accounts with unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for Fall 2022 semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the document upload page to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.
Set Up Electronic Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to set up direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited electronically. Learn more about electronic deposit here.
One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students can follow updates from One Stop on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Student Health Insurance Information—All Students
Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline should follow these guidelines:
- Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before April 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by April 30, 2022. A Rutgers ID number must be included for identification.
- Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Students can visit www.uhcsr.com to create an account and access insurance cards in a few weeks. Please note that students should be proactive and enroll before the deadline each semester to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care—including medication—and then seeking reimbursement.

Duo Requirement for NetID Services and Websites Starts April 18—All Students
Rutgers will require all students to use two-step login with Duo to access most NetID-protected services and websites including Canvas, myRutgers, and Microsoft Office. The requirement will be rolled out to most Rutgers students from April 18 to April 20. Students should enroll now to protect their information. Students who do not enroll before the requirement goes into effect starting on April 18 may experience disrupted access to critical IT services at Rutgers. For help, visit twostep.rutgers.edu and review the FAQs for two-step login, or contact the Office of Information Technology Help Desk.

Attend a Learning Center Focus Group—All Students
The Rutgers Learning Centers invites students who have or have not used Learning Centers' services to participate in a focus group about their experiences. Each participant will be entered into a raffle to win one of five Visa gift cards with one winner picked from each group. Focus groups will be offered online and in-person. Applications are Open for the Darien Civic Engagement Project—Undergraduate Students
Students can support voter mobilization on campus this fall by being a part of the Darien Civic Engagement Project, a 1.5 credit class promoting nonpartisan voter registration and education for Rutgers University students. Focused on the RU Voting program, interested students will gain research and leadership skills as they host voter registration drives and create social media content for the midterm elections. This project is open to all classes, majors, and locations and the application deadline is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Learn more and apply here.

Drop-In Writing Tutoring—All Students
The Rutgers Learning Centers are offering Writing tutoring by appointment and drop-in. Drop-in writing tutoring is exclusively in-person, while appointments are offered for both in-person and online. To view the drop-in schedule or to make an appointment, please visit the LC | Writing Tutoring community on Penji. Students can bring a drafts of papers for a course, personal statements for graduate or professional schools, or meet to brainstorm ideas for writing. Tutors will help develop a plan for the next step, whether it is outlining, researching, drafting, or revising. Please note that the Learning Centers do not provide tutoring support for Writing Program courses (01:355:xxx), such as Expository Writing and Basic Composition. Students who have failed to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline should follow these guidelines:
- Failed to Waive? Students are being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan and will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before April 30, 2022, at www.universityhealthplans.com. F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu by April 30, 2022. A Rutgers ID number must be included for identification.
- Failed to Enroll? Students are now being enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which will cause a delay in accessing insurance cards. Accelerate Learning with Peer Coaching—All Students
The Rutgers Learning Centers offer peer coaching which helps students learn new study strategies, develop time management, and participate in facilitated small groups that are capped at 6 students per session. Academic Support Services offered by the Learning Centers—All Students
Students can optimize their learning with the services offered by the Rutgers Learning Centers, open to all. Academic support services allow students to build connections with a community of learners either in-person or online. The Learning Centers offer course-specific drop-in tutoring, Academic coaching, and peer coaching that supports academic skill-building and study-planning through workshops and one-on-one appointments. Writing support is available for any course outside of the Writing Program (the Writing Centers provide support specifically for those courses). Study groups meet weekly to review course material with students and integrate study strategies, and Online Learning Modules are asynchronous learning modules that can be accessed through Canvas. The Rutgers Learning Centers are offering resources to help students with midterm exams and optimize learning this semester. New Financial Aid Program—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students in their third and fourth years of study may qualify for the Garden State Guarantee (GSG) commencing Fall 2022. The GSG is New Jersey’s promise to make a college degree more accessible and affordable by reducing the out-of-pocket costs for students and families. Eligible applicants must be New Jersey residents working toward their first bachelor’s degree and file the 2022–2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2022. Financial Holds—All Students
Financial holds have been placed on accounts with unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for Fall 2022 semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.
Set Up Electronic Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to set up direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited electronically. Learn more about electronic deposit here.

The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. The Rutgers Learning Centers are holding workshops open to all students on Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. online. 2021 1098T tax forms were made available for students on January 31 for viewing and printing for Educational Tax Credits. Students with scholarships and grant aid greater than their qualified tuition and fee charges are not eligible to claim a tax deduction and will not see a 1098T form. Student Health Insurance Information—All Students
Rutgers University requires full-time and all F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline each semester. The Health Insurance premium is automatically added to the term bill each semester for the 2021–2022 policy year. The spring open waiver/enrollment period ends on Thursday, February 17, 2022.
- Enrolling? Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. Students must complete the enrollment form before the deadline.
- Waiving? The premium will be removed from the term bill within 4 business days after submission of the waiver form.

Study Groups and Academic Success Workshops—All Students
The Rutgers Learning Centers encourages students to sign up for study groups. Study group leaders review course material with students and integrate study strategies such as note taking, problem solving, and test preparation that link course content with cognitive skill development. The Learning Centers also offer Academic Success Series Workshops which help students learn techniques to improve focus, concentration, memory, emotional well-being, and effective strategies to take control of learning. Commencement Information—All Students
The Rutgers University–New Brunswick and Rutgers Biomedical & Health Sciences Commencement will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at SHI Stadium on the Busch Campus. School convocations are scheduled on the surrounding days. Please visit the Commencement website for more information regarding these events, regalia sales, and more. The Rutgers–Eagleton Washington Internship Award Program provides up to $5,000 for outstanding Rutgers undergraduate students who are completing an in-person summer internship in the government/nonprofit sector. Students are invited to participate in one of the largest and most diverse recruiting opportunities in the nation on Thursday, February 17, from 1-4 p.m. An anticipated group of nearly 250 employers will be available to network with candidates to discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields. Rutgers Summer Service Internship (RSSI) Initiative—Undergraduate Students
Rutgers Summer Service Internship (RSSI) Initiative provides select students with an opportunity to earn up to $5,000 while interning for a minimum of 200-hours over 10 weeks during the summer at a public service non-profit organization or direct-service government office. Students also participate in a concurrent virtual, asynchronous course. Candidates may apply with a qualifying internship found on their own or participate in a matching process. Dining Plan Change and Cancellation Requests—All Students
Dining plan change and cancellation requests for the Spring 2022 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, February 15, 2022. This is the only time during the semester that reductions and cancellations will be allowed. Students can find the most up-to-date information about dining services and meal plans here.
RU Express Cancellation and Reduction Requests—All Students
RU Express initial deposit cancellation and reduction requests for the Spring 2022 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, February 15, 2022. This is the only time during the semester that cancellations or reductions will be allowed and only if the money for the Spring 2022 semester HAS NOT been used. Students can find the most up-to-date information about dining services and meal plans here.
Financial
New Financial Aid Program—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students in their third and fourth years of study may qualify for the Garden State Guarantee (GSG) commencing Fall 2022. The GSG is New Jersey’s promise to make a college degree more accessible and affordable by reducing the out-of-pocket costs for students and families. Eligible applicants must be New Jersey residents working toward their first bachelor’s degree and file the 2022–2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2022. View and Pay Spring Semester Term Bills—All Students
Spring 2022 term bills are now available to view and make payment. Term bills not paid by the due date will be assessed a late payment fee of $125.00. Payments are accepted in the form of e-check or credit card and can be made via the online term bill. Please note that in-person cash payments are currently suspended due to COVID-19 protocols.
Rutgers Tuition Payment Plans—All Students
Students can also choose to enroll in a payment plan for assistance with paying their term bill balances at paymentplans.rutgers.edu. Additional Spring 2022 payment plans have been created for students who missed the January 5 deadline and are available now.
Sign Up for Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to sign up for direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited. Learn more about direct deposit here.
1098Ts—All Students
Starting at the end of January, students will receive an email notification with instructions for viewing and printing the 2021 1098T tax forms for Educational Tax Credits. Students with scholarships and grant aid greater than their qualified tuition and fee charges are not eligible to claim a tax deduction and will not see a 1098T form. One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Covid-19 Booster Vaccinations—All Students
COVID-19 booster shots are available at Rutgers vaccination sites. Learn more about eligibility for a booster, how to schedule an appointment, and how to upload booster documentation on the Rutgers' COVID-19 Vaccine webpage here.
Student Health Insurance Information—All Students
Rutgers University requires full-time and all F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline each semester. The Health Insurance premium is automatically added to the term bill each semester for the 2021–2022 policy year. The spring open waiver/enrollment period ends on Thursday, February 17, 2022.
- Enrolling? Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. Students must complete the enrollment form before the deadline.
- Waiving? The premium will be removed from the term bill within 4 business days after submission of the waiver form.

Commencement Information—All Students
The Rutgers University–New Brunswick and Rutgers Biomedical & Health Sciences Commencement will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at SHI Stadium on the Busch Campus. School convocations are scheduled on the surrounding days. Please visit the Commencement website for more information regarding these events, regalia sales, and more. Students should continue to check their ScarletMail accounts as ceremony information will be sent via email. Family and friends are also able to sign up for the Commencement newsletter for up-to-date information on the upcoming May 15, 2022, ceremony.

Tutoring, Study Groups, Academic Coaching, and Writing Assistance—All Students
Students are encouraged to take full advantage of the wide range of resources available through the Learning Centers. The Learning Centers offer a variety of peer-led academic support services which help increase academic performance, especially when students sign up early and proactively. Applications for the Rutgers–Eagleton Washington Internship Award Program—Undergraduate Students
The Rutgers–Eagleton Washington Internship Award Program provides up to $5,000 for outstanding Rutgers undergraduate students who are completing an in-person summer internship in the government/nonprofit sector. This program is meant to ease the financial burden of a summer internship in Washington, D.C., and is open to all campuses, class years, and majors. Students do not need to have an internship in place at the time of application. For Summer 2022, applications are due online by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022. Learn more about the program here.
