One Stop Student Services Center Pausing Walk-In Service
The One Stop Student Services Center will continue the temporary pause of the walk-in service until Monday, January 31, 2022, in consideration of the recent update on COVID-19 protocols and change in operating status. During this time, the One Stop will respond to webform submissions and will be available by phone (848-445-4636) for all matters related to Financial Aid, Registrar, or Student Accounting. 

Dining Plan Change and Cancellation Requests—All Students
Dining plan change and cancellation requests for the Spring 2022 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, February 15, 2022. This is the only time during the semester that reductions and cancellations will be allowed. Students can find the most up-to-date information about dining services and meal plans here.

RU Express Cancellation and Reduction Requests—All Students
RU Express initial deposit cancellation and reduction requests for the Spring 2022 semester are now being accepted online until Tuesday, February 15, 2022. This is the only time during the semester that cancellations or reductions will be allowed and only if the money for the Spring 2022 semester HAS NOT been used. Financial

New Financial Aid Program—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students in their third and fourth years of study may qualify for the Garden State Guarantee (GSG) commencing Fall 2022. The GSG is New Jersey’s promise to make a college degree more accessible and affordable by reducing the out-of-pocket costs for students and families. Eligible applicants must be New Jersey residents working toward their first bachelor’s degree and file the 2022–2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2022. View and Pay Spring Semester Term Bills—All Students Spring 2022 term bills are now available to view and make payment. Term bills not paid by the due date will be assessed a late payment fee of $125.00. Payments are accepted in the form of e-check or credit card and can be made via the online term bill. Please note that in-person cash payments are currently suspended due to COVID-19 protocols.

Rutgers Tuition Payment Plans—All Students Students can also choose to enroll in a payment plan for assistance with paying their term bill balances at paymentplans.rutgers.edu. Additional Spring 2022 payment plans have been created for students who missed the January 5 deadline and are available now.  

Sign Up for Direct Deposit to Receive Refunds—All Students Students are strongly encouraged to sign up for direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited. Learn more about direct deposit here

1098Ts—All Students Starting at the end of January, students will receive an email notification with instructions for viewing and printing the 2021 1098T tax forms for Educational Tax Credits. Students with scholarships and grant aid greater than their qualified tuition and fee charges are not eligible to claim a tax deduction and will not see a 1098T form. Learn more about the 1098T form here

Covid-19 Booster Vaccinations—All Students
COVID-19 booster shots are available at Rutgers vaccination sites. Learn more about eligibility for a booster, how to schedule an appointment, and how to upload booster documentation on the Rutgers' COVID-19 Vaccine webpage here.

Student Health Insurance Information–All Students
Rutgers University requires full-time and all F & J Rutgers visa-sponsored students to waive or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline each semester. The Health Insurance premium is automatically added to the term bill each semester for the 2021–2022 policy year. The spring open waiver/enrollment period ends on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

  • Enrolling? Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. Students must complete the enrollment form before the deadline.
  • Waiving? The premium will be removed from the term bill within 4 business days after submission of the waiver form.

Commencement Information—All Students
The Rutgers University–New Brunswick and Rutgers Biomedical & Health Sciences Commencement will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at SHI Stadium on the Busch Campus. School convocations are scheduled on the surrounding days. Registration for study groups at the Learning Centers is now open. Register and view the list of corresponding courses and study groups here. The Rutgers–Eagleton Washington Internship Award Program provides up to $5,000 for outstanding Rutgers undergraduate students who are completing an in-person summer internship in the government/nonprofit sector. This program is meant to ease the financial burden of a summer internship in Washington, D.C., and is open to all campuses, class years, and majors. Students do not need to have an internship in place at the time of application. For Summer 2022, applications are due online by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022. Students are encouraged to get ahead with classes by using services offered by the Learning Centers early in the semester. New visitors who use any of these services, either online or in-person, will automatically be entered into a raffle for multiple Amazon electronic gift cards. Students can be entered twice by following social media accounts. The Learning Centers will be closed temporarily but all services will be available online. The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. Failed to Enroll? Students are now enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan. Insurance cards should have been accessible starting October 5, 2021, and an account must be created to access the card.

Academic Coaches work with students one-on-one to help examine their strengths and identify areas in need of improvement in order to help students reach their full academic potential. Students will develop time management, organization, study skills, test-taking skills, and conquer procrastination. Coaches will assess the student’s academic concerns and aid them in employing the necessary strategies to address them. Students will have the opportunity to work together with coaches to create a personalized academic success plan to support their academic goals across all courses. National College Health Assessment—All Students
Rutgers Student Health is currently administering the National College Health Assessment (NCHA) which collects a wide range of health and wellness information from undergraduate and graduate students. Weekly Rapid Results HIV Testing Available—All Students
Rutgers Health Outreach, Promotion, and Education (HOPE) is providing Weekly Rapid Results HIV Testing every Friday through November 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. by appointment. The Benefits of Writing Tutoring—All Students
Students seeking writing tutoring should visit the Rutgers Learning Centers for one-on-one drop-in writing tutoring during the scheduled hours. Students can bring drafts of their papers for a course, personal statements for graduate or professional school, or meet to brainstorm ideas for writing with a tutor. Tutors help develop a plan for the next step, whether it is outlining, researching, drafting, or revising. They will also provide feedback and suggestions on sentence structure, paragraph development, and the overall flow of the paper. You are encouraged to check this site frequently.

Spring 2022 Pre-Registration—Undergraduate Students
Pre-Registration for Spring 2022 begins on Monday, November 29, at 9 a.m. for New Brunswick undergraduate students with 105+ credits and continues through Thursday, December 9. Last Day to Withdraw from University—Undergraduate Students
The last day to withdraw from the university for Fall 2021 is November 22, 2021. View the Fall 2021 Undergraduate Calendar here. For assistance, please contact the One Stop Student Services Center.

Registration for Winter Term Is Now Open—All Students
Registration for the Winter 2022 term has begun. Earn credits towards a degree during winter break and choose from 150 courses in a wide range of subjects. Learn more about Winter Session here.

Important Graduation Information—Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing January 2022 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online, or a hard copy (PDF) if the deadline has been missed. The January deadline is January 15, 2022. For any questions concerning a diploma application, please call 848-445-4636 (INFO) and select option 6, or submit an inquiry to the One Stop Student Services Center. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.

Financial

Financial Aid Application Available—All Students
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available for the 2022–2023 academic year. Please file before the January 15, 2022, priority deadline to ensure eligibility for all available aid programs. The following is needed to file a FAFSA:

  •    An FSA ID
  •    Student's Social Security Number
  •    2020 Federal Tax information for student and student's parents
  •    Rutgers Federal School Code: 002629

Financial Holds—All Students 
Financial holds have been placed on accounts with unpaid balances. These holds will prevent students from registering for spring semester classes. Students enrolled in tuition payment plans should make sure their accounts are current. Financial aid recipients should review aid packages and check required documents on the Financial Aid webpage to make sure all documents have been submitted. Students can view the balances on their accounts here.

Set Up Electronic Deposit to Receive Refunds Faster—All Students
Students are strongly encouraged to set up direct deposit for the fastest, safest, and most convenient way to receive refunds. Funds are available for immediate use once deposited electronically. Learn more about electronic deposit here.

One Stop Student Services Center and Walk-Ins—All Students
The One Stop Student Services Center (One Stop) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick represents an integrated and coordinated cross-functional service in the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration.  One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across these areas to promote a progressive, simplified, and consistent student experience and a culture that supports student satisfaction and success. Questions can be submitted using the contact form, by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the One Stop at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins. The center is open Monday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Health

National College Health Assessment—All Students
Rutgers Student Health is currently administering the National College Health Assessment (NCHA) which collects a wide range of health and wellness information from undergraduate and graduate students. This data will guide future services and interventions. Students should check email inboxes for their customized NCHA link. All participants will be entered to win one of ten $200 Amazon gift cards. The NCHA is open through November 23. Please contact fmaresca@rutgers.edu with any questions.

Fall 2021 Flu Vaccination Clinic—All Students
The last flu vaccination clinic takes place on Wednesday, November 10, at Sojourner Truth Apartments on the College Avenue Campus. The clinic runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Students must bring their student ID and insurance card. To save time, forms can be filled out in advance. Learn more and access the forms here.

Weekly Rapid Results HIV Testing Available—All Students
Rutgers Health Outreach, Promotion, and Education (HOPE) is providing Weekly Rapid Results HIV Testing every Friday through November 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. by appointment. Test results are available in about 20 minutes. Please email mark.cruz@rutgers.edu to make an appointment. All testing is free and confidential. Students must bring their student IDs, and masks must be worn to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Testing is done at 8 Lafayette Street on the College Avenue Campus.

Student Health Insurance Waiver Appeals—All Students
The deadline to waive or enroll in student health insurance was September 21. Updated waiver appeal information is as follows:

Failed to Waive? Students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) will be responsible for the premium on the term bill even if they have other health insurance. Students can complete a waiver appeal form before November 30, 2021. F and J Rutgers visa-sponsored students must contact Eirinn Jones at Rutgers Global before the deadline for waiver appeal guidelines at eljones@global.rutgers.edu.

Failed to Enroll? Students are now enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan. Insurance cards should have been accessible starting October 5, 2021, and an account must be created to access the card.  

Students may view the summary of benefits and other information here. Please note that the enrollment process can take several weeks, which will delay access to insurance cards. Students are encouraged to be proactive and enroll before the deadline in order to avoid having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for medical care and then seeking reimbursement.

Priority Housing for Living-Learning Opportunities—Undergraduate Students
Current undergraduate students can apply to live in Living-Learning Communities (LLC) at no extra cost for the 2022–2023 academic year. Students in learning communities enjoy the benefits of priority housing and sharing common residential and academic experiences with a close community of friends. Academics

The Benefits of Writing Tutoring—All Students
Students seeking writing tutoring should visit the Rutgers Learning Centers for one-on-one drop-in writing tutoring during the scheduled hours. Students can bring drafts of their papers for a course, personal statements for graduate or professional school, or meet to brainstorm ideas for writing with a tutor. Tutors help develop a plan for the next step, whether it is outlining, researching, drafting, or revising. They will also provide feedback and suggestions on sentence structure, paragraph development, and the overall flow of the paper. Applications and Virtual Information Session for the Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies—Undergraduate Students
The Department of Political Science at the School of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications from high-achieving undergraduate students for the Accelerated Master’s Program in Political Science–United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) on a rolling basis. This 36-credit program gives students an opportunity to reduce graduate program costs and obtain an M.A. degree in a shorter time period. A virtual information session will be held on Tuesday, November 9, at 12 p.m. Register for the information session here.

The School of Social Work is hosting virtual information sessions for students interested in learning more about the Master of Social Work degree options. Applications for this nationally-ranked school are now being accepted for 2022. Learn more and register for an information session here.

Register for Bloustein School's Master's in Public Policy, Urban Planning, and Public Informatics Information Sessions—All Students
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy is hosting virtual information sessions for their master and graduate certificate programs in Public Policy, Urban Planning, and Public Informatics. The GRE is waived for 2022 and scholarships are available for Fall 2022. No work experience is necessary. Students must RSVP to attend an information session.
